Maybe you should brush up on the subject before calling the (then 13 year old) victim a liar.

First of all, I DO believe that anyone who sits on a jury should be required to have a minimum of a bachelors degree in something that is legal relevant such as forensics(which most certainly is multidisciplinary). I did not mention forensic psychology but honestly, knowledge of forensics that involved some physical science really wouldnt hurt now would it. People, especially those who arent familiar with forensic science and/or law, have shewn themselves to side with their own when sitting on a jury panel. This means that they will exculpate(as in the OJ Simpson trial for example) the defendant even if he/she is guilty because the defendant is one of *their own*.

Secondly, I do not know any of the details of the Roman Polanski case but if there IS evidence beyond this woman’s allegations than such should be used against him. But to compare Roman Polanski to Vlad the Impaler is rather ridiculous I think. I do not think that celebrities should be allowed to escape justice but in the case of Michael Jackson the allegations against him were unsupported by facts and its sophomoric to say the least to presume that he is actually a “pedo” just because a child accused him of something.

I am not a misogynist, but I will freely admit that I do not believe in chivalry. I am not going to take someone’s side just because they are a woman and the person they’re accusing is a man. How can you honestly say that to suggest that women aren’t saints and that they are capable of lying/making false allegations is “misogyny”?

I’m blown away by all the radfems and their caspar milquetoast pull-toys who scream for my blood if I gaze admiringly at an attractive woman, but who at the same time happily abandon their mutilated sisters to their grisly fate lest they appear politically incorrect or “judgemental.”

Well Anton/Seth you clearly haven’t bothered to do any research into the case making you the ignorant low-life here. Polanski ADMITTED to drugging and raping the girl without her consent, and cut a deal to plea to the lesser charge of statutory rape. His trial ALREADY HAPPENED moron. He CONFESSED. I don’t “presume” (and frankly I think you meant assume here) anything I’ve read the actual court transcripts (widely available) and did enough research to know that Polanski has never denied the charges. He also admitted to having sex with a 15-year-old later in life. Your own misogyny is causing you to make assumptions that are unsupported.

And for the record his victim wasn’t a woman, she was a child.

And do tell, what is a “trained forensic” and why would any person advocate for creating a special class of people to sit on a jury that is supposed to be comprised of the accused peers? Do you mean someone trained in forensic psychology? If that’s the case the idea of criminality being medicalized has already been done, in the Soviet Union. Or do you mean anyone trained in any forensic science (forensic anthropology, forensic accounting etc) in which case why not just say educated people (like myself) should be allowed to judge people and those people who have no degree beyond their community college B.A. in Forensic Basket Weaving with a minor in defending child sexual exploitation should keep their opinions to themselves.

One of the things that really cracks me up about this post is that you PRESUME that if a woman makes an accusation against a man, especially one who happens to be famous and respected, that her word is valid until proven otherwise…..Did it ever occur to you mr taylor that women DO lie and DO make false accusations??? Roman Polanski is entitled to a fair trial and to be regarded INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY as dictated by the american legal system. You can cry me a river about bad-old Dracula who’s been dead for 500 years holds an undying fascination rather than the hordes of ignorant peasants who nearly dragged England down into an obscure, backward country at the behest of Oliver Cromwell. One of the worst things about American Justice is the fact that ordinary,ignorant Low-Lifes are allowed to sit on jury panels instead of professionals TRAINED in forensic. At least we have some degree of law and order in the US rather than the mob rule that existed 100 years ago in the southern half of America.
