People were so ready to believe that an Obama supporter would commit this act because a highly visible segment of his supporters have demonstrated that they are willing to win this election by any means necessary. Voter registration fraud? No problem. Illegal voting? Sure thing! Race baiting, intimidation, violent behavior? Whatever it takes.

Jeff, your lies about your political alignment are easier to spot than Obama’s lies about his questionable associations. No one who truly believes in the Republican ideals of freedom and self-reliance could in good conscience vote for Obama. Like your candidate, you are a nanny stater and a fraud, and while I’d very much like to see you reap what you’ve sown, I’ll have to miss out on that when President McCain wins the presidency.

Or are you just some Obama supporter running around stroking themselves. Like I said, too late. If Obama wins we riot. This girl faked her injury but the people attacked at the RNC didn’t, nor did Norm Coleman fake the vandalism to his house, etc etc.

Republicans aren’t going to lay down and continue to be White liberals punching bags, Ashley Todd be damned. This country is split down the middle and civil war is coming soon. At this point I’m happy it is, because the alternative is a slow slide into Sovietism where people like me end up in camps.

Yes they do and that’s why people like me have fled the Republicans this year. The young woman is a flake. Out of thousands of campaign volunteers, it’s no big deal that a single unbalanced campaign worker pulled a crazy stunt like this. It could have happened with a Clinton worker, an Obama worker or a Ron Paul worker. It’s an isolated incident.

The problem is not what that young woman did. The problem is your reaction–the wanton gullibility–the intense desire to believe a very shaky accusation, the resistance to mounting contrary evidence–shamelessly reducing yourself to suggesting police of misconduct–and, then, the Pièce de résistance of lunacy, suggesting that she is actually a liberal. It’s clear that the facts will always be interpreted (over and over if necessary) to serve your beliefs.

But you are not an isolated case like the woman who pulled this bonehead stunt. You are representative of the new political right that rejects evidence and can’t deal with reality–the kind of people who can’t admit to the normal kinks in their own armor or the kinks in their own belief systems. This attitude of yours, shared by so many on the new right, has been deservedly dubbed ‘crazy.’

This attitude has moved me and many people I know out of the Republican party this year. I will vote for a Democrat for president for the first time in my 32 years of voting because I don’t want a president who is beholden to people whose thoughts and beliefs are immune to fact and completely inaccessible to persuasion. I’ll put up with some liberalism as protection from the stupid arrogance of blind belief.

McCain might not have been a bad president, but now he owes too much to the crazies. I am confident that McCain’s clock will be cleaned in a couple of weeks thanks to you and your ilk. You have made McCain’s election distasteful to decent, honest people. While I’m disgusted by what you’ve written here, a part of me welcomes it. It will push a few more people off the fence because they don’t want any part of such nonsense.

Ashley’s story distracted people from this story that happened the same day, or the Coleman’s house being attacked, or the fact that somebody from keeps leaving comments here using the email address “KKK@Nigger.com” and yes, he’s one of your fellow Obama supporters.

Ashley sucks (she’s probably a moby) but war in the streets is still coming, thanks to people like you who laughed and snickered when protesters at the RNC tried to blind and old man by throwing chemicals in his face, or tried to murder Republicans by dropping concrete from overpasses on their vehicles.
