About Red Alerts
Tongue in cheek I started Red Alerts as a place to vent my frustration at the armchair revolutionaries who vomited forth warmed over Soviet style propaganda that I came into contact with so often.
But then I finished my Masters.
During that time Red Alerts changed from a somewhat radical political blog to reflect my own interests. Crime, race and culture are big part of Red Alerts now and long time readers will hopefully embrace the more expansive scope of the stories presented here, which are a reflection of my concerns and views.
Those views and my opinions may not agree with yours, in fact I’m sure many of you will disagree with at least one stance I take be it the idiocy of Tax Protesting or the hypocrisy of the so-called Feminists. I come at all these issues from my own experiences, and these posts are the opinions of a Bi-racial Republican pagan with a Bachelor’s in Comparative Religion from Bloomfield College and a M.F.A. from Wesleyan. You may be slightly different.
Red Alerts of course reflects a great deal of the author, but it is also part of a growing movement of blogs that are attempting to deal with crime in the new millennium. While some of the better blogs like Dreamin’ Demon or Lost in Lima, Ohio are platforms for “public shaming” of criminals, an attempt to bring back the social stigma of criminality, Red Alerts still maintains a political reading of crime. In that respect it is a niche blog in more in the vein of MyCrimeSpace or News of Doom.
But Red Alerts also follows some specific political issues such as Narco-Terrorism, Gun Rights, Islamic Imperialism and other stories that may effect the safety and security of Americans.
Red Alerts continues to grow and change and will continue to provide readers with an alternative perspective on some of today’s newsworthy events.
