The Cat Who Caught a Filthy Pervert

Not the title of a light hearted mystery, a true story from Austin where child porn has unfortunately become commonplace. The story begins with a young Amy Spencer and her cat Sophie moving into a new apartment in a quiet Austin neighborhood. Then Sophie’s keen detective skills lead her to a shocking discovery:

Spencer says she had just moved into her apartment and was trying to find extra space when she and a friend noticed her cat, Sophie, clawing at something on top of the cabinet.

Spencer said she was shocked by what Sophie discovered.

“Sophie was up there, digging around, and I though at first maybe she had poison or a rat trap or something, and so my friend got up there and stuck his hands underneath and pulled out a stack of seven DVDs,” Spencer said.

The DVDs contained video of girls aged 5 to 11 performing sexual acts with adult men.

“It was horrible,” Spencer said. “At first I thought it was just like a home video because there was nothing on it, and then it became apparent within the first seven seconds, actually, that we watched that what it was. I’ve never seen anything like that in my whole life.”

Police, however, said child pornography is not rare in Austin.

The cat’s discovery led to the arrest of 24 year old Luis Jimenez who’s being held on a $40,000 bond which will have to be paid in full before he can make bail, supposedly because of the severity of his crimes though word is Jimenez is presents a serious flight risk. ‘Nuff said.

Thanks to Sophie and her owner Amy this filthy pervert is off the streets. The story is disturbing though because police seem to take for granted that Austin would be lousy with child porn.

It’s almost as if a culture of sexual violence sprung up in Texas overnight.

“Undocumented Worker” Gets 40 Years in Gang Related Slaying

His employer was MS-13’s Virginia chapter:

MANASSAS, Va. — An illegal immigrant from Guatemala has been ordered to serve 40 years in prison for the fatal stabbing of a Manassas man.

Twenty-year-old Marvin Rodriguez-Barrera was sentenced Thursday and faces deportation after the prison term.

He was convicted in October of first-degree murder and criminal gang participation in the November 2006 slaying of Charles Angelos Jr. Prosecutors say Rodriguez-Barrera was part of an attack by the MS-13 gang. Angelos was chased and beaten by gang members, then Rodriguez-Barrera stabbed him.

Stabbing a severely beaten man to death while running with MS-13. Truly they come to do the jobs Americans just won’t do.

Don’t say that to John McCain though, his new advisor, oops I mean “unpaid volunteer“, won’t like it.

But personally, I’m thinking the fence might not be a bad idea.

Sudanese Leader appoints Janjawid Leader as Special Adviser

Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir has appointed a suspected Janjawid leader as a special adviser to the ministry of federal government, the Sudanese daily Sudan Tribune reported.

Mousa Hilal, 43, is leader of the Mahamid, an Arab clan in Darfur. Hilal was named by numerous eyewitnesses in Darfur as leading a “terror campaign” against African tribes in the region in the past few years, the Sudan Tribune wrote.

Hilal was questioned in 2005 by Human Rights Watch (HRW) and admitted to “recruiting militias on behalf of Sudan’s central government.” The Arab leader was cited in an International Criminal Court report in February 2007 for delivering a “racist” speech in July 2003. He was not named a war crime suspect, however.

The conflict in Darfur began in 2003 when an ethnic minority of African tribes rose up against the Arab-dominated government in the capital Khartoum. The federal government was later accused of enlisting the Janjawid, an Arab militia in Darfur, to help crush the rebellion. Over 200,000 people have died in the conflict and more than 2.5 millions forced out of their homes

For all you “enlightened” lefties out there convinced Darfur isn’t a race based conflict this should open your eyes, unless of course you knew the truth all along but didn’t care. Lenin’s Tomb we’re looking at you. The fact is that Arab imperialism has been a factor in the oppression and enslavement of Africans for centuries, and Islamic imperialism supports the idea of racial superiority.

But the left doesn’t care if Arab Muslims collect slaves and scalps in Africa, they’re too busy aligning themselves with the “victims” of Zionist and U.S. imperialist aggression to care about something so small as Black women being raped to death. That’s what makes them so morally superior to we on the right, they see the big picture.

Mexico City Segregates Buses to Stop Sexual Harassment

Apparently in Mexico it’s thought outrageously naive to expect men to not molest women on crowded public buses. The situation has become so bad that officials have adopted a measure put forward by women’s rights groups who clearly set the bar for women’s lib very low:

MEXICO CITY – Groping and verbal harassment is an exasperating reality for women using public transportation in this sprawling capital, where 22 million passengers cram onto subways and buses each day. Some men treat women so badly that the subway system has long had ladies-only cars during rush hour, with police segregating the sexes on the platforms.

But that hasn’t helped women forced to rely on packed buses, by far the city’s most-used form of public transportation — until this week.

Acting on complaints from women’s groups, the city rolled out “ladies only” buses, complete with pink signs in the windshields to wave off the men.

As word spreads about the buses, the women seem delighted, while some men forced to wait a few minutes longer have shown their anger. Still others have stumbled on board despite the signs, much to their embarrassment.

On Thursday, passengers on one of the female-only buses spent most of their trip down the capital’s tree-lined Reforma Avenue chatting or putting on makeup, instead of fighting off unwanted male attention.

Mexico City’s female-only buses run along three busy routes throughout the day for now, but the city plans to add them to 15 other routes by April, said Ariadna Montiel, who directs the public bus system.

“Women were asking for this service because of the sexual harassment, especially groping and leering,” Montiel said.

And while some men have complained that they have to wait longer for a bus, she said the women are thrilled: “The women are really happy and we have been getting a lot of e-mail and letters from them.”

Juliana Romero, a 49-year-old secretary, said not riding with men is “fantastic.”

“When the bus is packed, there will inevitably be a lecherous man who will bother you,” she said.

Women-only buses or subways have been rolling for years in India, Brazil, Japan and other countries. Mexico City finally took the action as part of a growing responsiveness to complaints about discrimination against women, Montiel said.

So women’s groups in Mexico aren’t demanding that men act civilized, but that women are separated from them. Like in India, Brazil and Japan there seems to be a culture of misogyny that puts the blame of sexual exploitation not on men or the society’s permissiveness with regard to male sexual battery, but instead blames access to women for men molesting them.

Multiculturalists should take note and decide if there really is an inherent parity between cultures. I’d rather my wife or daughter ride a bus in America, surrounded by people who agree at least to the basic standards of American behavior (you know, like not molesting women in public) than in Mexico City, frilly pink ride or not.

But I guess that makes me a racist.

Was the French Market Meltdown Economic Warfare?

Christine of the Center for Vigilant Freedom makes that argument in this thoughtful piece:

Perhaps Kerviel, the man who broke the second largest bank in France, is just a lone rogue trader. He has cost Societe Generale over 4 billion euros in what papers are referring to as a completely unmotivated trading scheme in which he made no profits.

Or, maybe this is a tactic to weaken Western financial institutions so they can be purchased much more cheaply (”rescued”) by outside investors – particularly sovereign wealth funds. The Islamist countries – Kuwait, UAE, Saudi Arabia etc. – are the most active investors using sovereign wealth funds these days.

As to the repercussions…according to today’s Washington Post, shareholders from the U.S., Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands filed lawsuits alleging fraud, breach of trust and receipt of stolen goods against Societe Generale.

If all these lawsuits emerge from a trifling 4 billion Euros, imagine the lawsuits that may be filed once the real material risks of Shariah finance are revealed, and the participating institutions are found to have failed to disclose – since the Shariah finance market exposure is closer to a trillion dollars. As Citigroup is finding, the “rule of deep pockets” is ever with us, like death and taxes.

No one yet knows exactly why Jerome Kerviel committed this massive fraud which seems to have not benefited him economically. We may never know, though the Daily Mail paints a picture of a man whose life was falling apart. But Christine makes a good point about the outcome of this sort of activity, Islamic regime owned banks buying up western financial institutions cheap and thus having untoward control on our economic lives. Is it beyond the realm of possibility that Kerviel was bought off by Sharia banking proponents to undercut the French bank he worked for?

The rise in Sharia banking is a boon for Islamist regimes and they have been pushing it as a profitable alternative to regular financial trading. Alyssa Lappen convincingly argues that Sharia finance will destabilize world markets, and indeed it may be the entire point of Sharia based finance. Islamic scholar Mahmoud el-Gamal calls Islamic banking Sharia arbitrage and points out that so called Islamic banking has no basis in Islamic tradition or law. Sharia finance is indeed fool’s gold as Lappen argued in Frontpage recently.

So Islamic bankers have an uphill battle to introduce their Muslim brotherhood created economic vision on the world markets. Kerviel just gave these same people a shortcut into the French market. Like the CVF, I’m a bit suspicious.
