The Blitz Begins in London

Hot Air has all the details of a car bomb found outside of a London nightclub. Sky News is the best source for first hand information, including the fact that it was a quick thinking cop who disarmed the bomb before it went off:

Sky News sources say one of the first police officers on the scene of the London West End car bomb may have saved dozens of lives by diffusing the explosives before the bomb squad arrived.

It is believed the quick-thinking cop recognized that the car was wired to blow up, jumped in and disconnected the trigger device, thought to be a mobile phone.

This backs up an eye-witness account of a police officer briefly entering the metallic green Mercedes before running for cover.

People are being warned to stay vigilant after the discovery of the “massive” car bomb, which could have killed hundreds of nightclub revellers.

The device, which contained 60 litres of petrol, a large amount of nails and several gas canisters, was found in the Mercedes early this morning.

Park Lane has also been closed to traffic due to a suspect vehicle in an underground car park that police believe is connected to the attempted bombing in Haymarket.

Without that heroic officer the news coming out of England would be much different.

There’s a lot of folks blogging this, but 186k Per Second has a must read about the nutrootery going on at some popular left wing sites who are claiming that England’s last nail bomber, a National Socialist named David Copeland was a “right wing nut.” This is interesting because National Socialism is far to the left of most every political philosophy except one; Communism.

It is also fairly obvious that we’ll find out the bomber has connections to the religion of “peace” once the investigation is done. Seems like only yesterday I was blogging about left wing sites propagandizing for Islamism, now they’re also covering for their car bombing allies. When will we realize that the “far left” is as much our enemy as Al-Qaeda?

UPDATE: Fox just reported that an Internet posting saying “Rejoyce, London shall be bombed” has been uncovered.

Anti-Semitism at ‘Worst Level Since 1936’ in U.K.

A Jewish peer has warned that anti-Semitism is at its worst level in Britain since he fled here from Germany in 1936.

Lord Moser said he was particularly concerned about anti-Jewish feeling in Britain’s universities.

Addressing a House of Lords debate on anti-Semitism on university campuses, the crossbench peer said: “It is just over 70 years since I came to this country and I have to say that I’ve never been more concerned about the rising tide of anti-Semitism throughout Europe, including this country.

“This is evident in many ways and among my greatest worries is what is happening on university campuses where there have been many examples of anti-Semitic outbursts and discrimination.

He isn’t just talking about the boycott of Israeli universities by British academics either. Jews have been increasingly the targets of hate crimes in jolly old England.

British Police Allow Honor Killing

Authorities in England ignored a womans pleas for help when she had complained to the police that her father had been plotting to murder her after she fled an abusive arraigned marriage. The woman was subsequently murdered setting off an investigation into how this could have happened. From The Independent:

Banaz Mahmod made no secret of her belief that her father wanted to kill her. She was in hospital, nursing wounds incurred in an escape from him, when her boyfriend recorded a video of her on his mobile phone, in December 2005.

“It was just me and him in the living room. I turned around every now and then because I didn’t trust him,” she told the camera. Ms Mahmod also told police, four times, that she feared for her life and produced a list of three men she believed would murder her – but all to no avail.

Less than a month after making the video she was strangled. Her body was packed into a suitcase and driven 100 miles from London to Birmingham where she was buried in a back garden with the ligature – a shoelace – still around her neck.

Yesterday, campaigners demanded an Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) investigation into why Ms Mahmod, 20, died, at the end of a three-month Old Bailey trial in which her father, Mahmod Mahmod, 52, and his brother Ari Mahmod, 51, from Mitcham, south London, were convicted of murdering her. Mohamad Hama, 30, of West Norwood, south London, an associate of Ari Mahmod, had already pleaded guilty to the murder.

It emerged during the trial that a female police officer concluded Ms Mahmod had made up her story to get her boyfriend’s attention. PC Angela Cornes, one of several officers who could be investigated by Scotland Yard’s Directorate of Professional Standards, also told the jury that she had been instructed to doctor evidence by a detective inspector, Caroline Goode, to present the investigation in a better light.

No doubt the investigators were indoctrinated in the cult of multiculturalism, where taking seriously the plight of a woman whose only crime was to have born into a backward clan of barbarians would be termed Islamophobia. Had they fearlessly pursued justice ignoring the petty cries of bigotry the murderous family would have no doubt thrown their way, that young woman would be alive today.
