Hope and Change Link Round-Up

Some Americans are taken with Barack Obama’s Hope-n-Change fever but the economy and the world community aren’t jumping on the band wagon. The dollar’s collapsing, our allies are leaving us and civilization itself seems to be on the brink of collapse. Where’s your Messiah now Democrats?

Dore Gold predicts Iran will provide a nuclear umbrella to Jihadists that will allow them to act with impunity:

“The whole point of George W. Bush’s decision to remove the Taliban after 9/11 was to send a very clear message: ‘You attack the American homeland and we will take down your regime.’

“But fast forward to 2012. Iran has operational nuclear weapons that can strike deep into Europe, and eventually towards the eastern seaboard of the U.S. Will the U.S., U.K., and NATO as a whole have the same freedom of maneuver to say to states that support terrorism, ‘We will take you down if you attack us?’

“Will the U.S. Congress authorize sending forces abroad against a state armed with nuclear weapons? In other words, the entire balance in the war on terror shifts, because the state that is the largest global sponsor of terrorism today now has nuclear capabilities . . .
“This nuclear umbrella of Iran will unfurl and will be able to provide protection, not just to Shiite Hezbollah, but to Sunni organizations such as al-Qaida and Hamas.”

Cuba is sending operatives to U.S. embassies to conduct misinformation campaigns. They started this program right after 9/11 but it has continued up to this day even though Obama “unclenched his fist” at the regime.

France has become so disenchanted with perceived insults by Obama that they are rethinking their strategic relationship with us:

PARIS (Reuters) – French President Nicolas Sarkozy, initially dubbed Sarko the American for his pro-U.S. stance, is finding it much tougher to deal with Washington than he had anticipated and is recalibrating his policies accordingly.

Stung by perceived snubs from U.S. President Barack Obama and encouraged by the growing importance of the G20, Sarkozy is increasingly reaching out to non-aligned states in an effort to extend France’s international influence.

He has forged especially close ties with Brazil, is seeking alliances in central Asia and is intensifying his activities in the Middle East, using multi-billion dollar military and civilian nuclear trade deals as his calling card.

These initiatives are being played out against a discordant tone in Franco-American relations. This lack of harmony does not constitute a crisis, but is nonetheless raising eyebrows.

Asian nations are looking to form a European Union style political and economic bloc which will challenge American interest in the region. They are also floating the idea of reducing trade ties with the United States.

Morale of troops in Afghanistan is falling fast and the Afghans themselves are questioning Obama’s commitment to victory and America’s reliability as an ally.

President Obama was burned in effigy by Muslims in Kabul.

The United Nations is launching a human rights investigation of the United States. The issue will be America’s violation of human rights by not providing state run affordable housing to all – in other words we’re on trial for not embracing Communism. Via Breitbart:

Bank failures have hit 106 and “many” more remain weak.

Democrats leave door open for ACORN and similar communist organizations to have influence over financial regulations.

Capmark Financial Group has filed for Chapter 11! From Bloomberg:

Capmark is one of the largest U.S. commercial real estate finance companies, with more than $10 billion in originations, according to Moody’s Investors Service. The company, formerly known as GMAC Commercial Holding Corp., services more than $360 billion of debt.

The Horsham, Pennsylvania-based company has struggled as the default rate on commercial mortgages held by U.S. banks more than doubled to the highest since 1994. Capmark said on Sept. 2 that it may reorganize under Chapter 11 of the bankruptcy code.

From Reuters:

Mohsin Meghji, chief restructuring officer of Capmark, said: “The Chapter 11 process will give Capmark the opportunity to restructure our balance sheet while continuing to focus on maximizing value for our principal stakeholders. Over the past months, Capmark has engaged in extensive and constructive negotiations with our primary creditor constituencies to reach agreement on a plan of restructuring. We expect to complete this effort over the coming months.”

Capmark`s subsidiaries filing for Chapter 11 protection include Capmark Finance Inc.; Capmark Capital Inc.; Capmark Equity Investments, Inc.; Mortgage Investments, LLC; Net Lease Acquisition LLC; SJM Cap, LLC; Capmark Affordable Equity Holdings Inc.; Capmark REO Holding LLC; Summit Crest Ventures, LLC; Capmark Affordable Equity Inc. and 33 other Low Income Housing Tax Credit entities.

The dollar has lost its reserve status to the Yen and Euro. The value of the U.S. dollar has decreased by 10% in the last three months. Peter Schiff says it’s time to get out of the dollar. Salty language warning:

23 states have reported higher unemployment in September.

7,000 people a day lose unemployment benefits without having found new gainful employment.

Seven months after the stimulus 49 out of 50 states have lost jobs.

Possible credit dislocation on the horizon.

Falling tax revenue forces New York to delay $959 billion payment into its pension fund.

The housing bubble is being re-inflated.

Conditions are in place for oil to pass $100 a barrel.

I guess America can’t live on hope and change after all.

The Obama Wins a Nobel Prize for his Fine Work Destroying America and Supporting Fascism Link Round-Up

Like most rational people I was perplexed by the announcement of President Obama winning a Nobel Prize, and not just because he’s literally done nothing. He and his administration are pushing an agenda guaranteed to destroy America as we know it, smother infant democracies in their cradles, and support the rise of a neo-Soviet Union in Latin America, the establishment of a Caliphate in the Middle East, and a resurgent Russia’s domination of Europe.

The Nobel committee is obviously supportive of that agenda. After all, Obama’s recent “accomplishments” sound like a checklist of Marxist goals designed to destroy the lives of Americans:

America has ceded economic sovereignty to the IMF:

Our “friends” at the U.N. are calling for a new reserve currency.

Consumer borrowing is down 12 billion dollars and that number is propped up by the cash for clunkers fiasco.

Obama is claiming that the Taliban are not our enemies and can be given power, even after they bombed the Indian embassy in Kabul and the NYC terror plotter has been shown to be connected to Taliban affiliated Afghanistan and Pakistan training camps.

Obama’s advisor Dalia Mogehed says Sharia law is a type of “gender justice” for women.

Iran is sentencing freedom protesters to death. Obama’s reaction? Defunding Iranian human rights groups.

Obama is enacting policies designed to make us more dependent on foreign oil.

The Obama administration is working to ban sport fishing. This is a big deal because in rough economic times many people use hunting and fishing to supplement their groceries, as my family did in the 1970s.

Wow, that’s just one week of Noble Prize level activity. He really earned that award.

The Who’s Teaching Your Children Link Round-Up

When I worked with kids the one thing that shocked me the most was the kind of degenerates allowed to come into contact with children. In the non-profits where I worked, we had stricter hiring standards than the school districts we were in, where a degree in “Education” (where teachers don’t learn to master any subject in particular, but just how to impart knowledge on subjects they have never bothered to understand) was a good enough credential for a 24-year-old who had never read a book outside of the texts he or she was assigned in college to be put in charge of the intellectual development of your precious children. That this sort of program attracts the wrong types of people should go without saying.

In other words, stories like this simply don’t surprise me anymore:

New Hampshire teacher/pervert assigns writing class this question: “If you knocked your brother down would you urinate in his mouth?”

27-year-old special education teacher Valerie Roesler was caught driving drunk at 2:00am … with a 15-year-old in her car. The teacher was having a sexual relationship with the child. Here’s a picture of who Virginia allows to teach your special needs children:

valerie-roesler-drunk-child-rapist.jpg

Kentucky Teacher’s Aide charged with raping 4-year-old. Even though he admitted to cops he fondled the girl, he remains employed with the school system.

Former teacher James Raymond has been charged with transporting a minor over state lines to engage in sexual activity. Grain of salt alert but the comments are full of people claiming to have dealt with this scum before.

A former teacher for D.C.’s Public Works charter school has received a lousy eighteen month sentence for sexually abusing a 14-year-old. Ricardo A. Cuaderes, 57, of the 3900 block of Normandy Woods Drive in Ellicott City as WaPo helpfully points out was actually sentenced to nine years, but the liberal judge decided to hug this thug and suspend all but eighteen months. I’m sure Cuaderes’ victim appreciates the judge’s compassion.

The Oregon school system hired 29-year-old John Kiltgord after failing to learn he was fired from the New York City school system the year before for dating a 16-year-old. Within a few months of being hired he was caught having sex with another child and is doing a little over a year.

A female teacher is facing life in prison for having a sexual relationship with four teen males. I never thought I’d see the day female predation was taken seriously. At least predation by unattractive women. Any woman who is considered at least marginally attractive will still be getting slaps on the wrist for child molestation.

You ready to start home schooling yet?

Communism on the March Link Round-Up

And people told me when I first started Red Alerts I was just being paranoid about Marxism and the resurgent Communists in America and abroad. Now all but the most willfully blind must admit that Communism is second only to Islamism in its expansion, both physically and culturally in once free nations:

Evil dictator Evo Morales, a man who is holding a European National named ElÅ‘d Tóásó on trumped up charges and is torturing the man even now, has been declared the “World Hero of Mother Earth” by the United Nations.  At the same ceremony Fidel Castro was declared a “Hero of Solidarity”  and OpenMarket.org points out that the man giving the awards was the same man who pressured the Obama administration to support the Communist take over of Honduras:

The award was presented to Castro by the President of the UN General Assembly, Miguel D’Escoto Brockmann. D’Escoto Brockmann also successfully lobbied the Obama Administration to demand that Honduras allow the return to power of its ex-president and would-be dictator, Manuel Zelaya. (Two months ago, soldiers acting on orders of Honduras’s Supreme Court arrested Zelaya after he systematically abused his powers. After the Court quite legally declared that Zelaya was no longer president, he was duly replaced by Honduras’s Congress with a civilian, the Congressional Speaker). The Obama Administration recently decided to impose sanctions on Honduras, and indicated it will not recognize future democratic elections in Honduras unless Honduras first lets ex-president Zelaya return to power.

Brockmann was quoted as saying the awards were meant to convey “that they embody virtues and values worth emulation by all of us” including the violent imposition of Communism I assume. It is now illegal to protest Chavez in Venezuela. But America’s the bad guy, right lefties?

Obama has increased visas to Cuba while hamstringing Honduras, who are fighting for the Republic’s very life. Carrots for Communists and sticks for those who support freedom and liberty? I didn’t know that was Obama’s official platform.

The leftist media has had a near blackout of the No Mas Chavez protests while at the same time giving lavish coverage to a traitorous Oliver Stone’s Venezuelan funded Communist propaganda film about Chavez that was warmly received by the rich elites at the Venice film festival. Meanwhile Chavez is having radio and television stations that have been critical of him shut down, a move Huffington Post commenters are defending. I guess dissent isn’t patriotic when you’re dissenting against a Communist dictatorship.

Snuff photo publishing Huffington Post founder Arianna Huffington wrote an essay decrying Glenn Beck’s “smear” campaign against Communist/ racist/ truther Van Jones that was composed largely of playing video clips of Van Jones widely available on the Internet. Nowhere in it does she mention that Jones claimed White environmentalists were in cahoots with other evil White people to “steer” toxins into minority communities, or that 9/11 was an inside job and we deserved it anyway. She then had one of her flunkies make an appearance on CNN claiming that racist truther Van Jones is a “national hero.” As usual Huffington took just enough time away from living the high life courtesy of a divorce from her hard working conservative husband to spit whatever Communist propaganda she thinks young people want to hear into the virtual Kleenex that is Huffington Post.

In similar low class fashion, Tom Brokaw and his fellow Communists on Meet the Press claimed the Van Jones affair proves you can’t trust the Internet. I guess if you’re a closet totalitarian looking for power you can’t.

Morbidly obese rich guy Michael Moore, who Gateway Pundit points out lives in a fancy home assessed at $647,000 and who sent his daughter to a college that cost about $40,000 a year when she attended, has come out as a socialist with his new movie which ends with the conclusion that Capitalism, the system which made him and his family rich and powerful, is evil. It should be pointed out that an assessment is a fraction of the house’s theoretical value, not what Moore paid for it, which would likely be much much higher in a desirable locale like Moore’s exclusive (and basically all White, by the way) neighborhood. So “evil” Capitalism has put Moore in what is likely a home everyone on my block couldn’t afford if we all went in together and we’re supposed to throw it out conveniently after Moore’s made enough money and connections to stay in the elite.

Russia is already arranging a pretext for another war with Georgia. Sorry to my Georgian friends, but you’re on your own.

The AFL-CIO is targeting Rite Aid, so expect to pay more for your medications if they win. Another front in Obama’s war on health care?

Supposed far-right kook Alex Jones is telling his audience they should rise up and have show trials … of Conservative talk radio hosts and everyone who listens to them.  The timing of this tirade, when Conservative talk radio is gaining audience and influencing the discussion, is interesting. It’s almost like he’s on Obama’s payroll. Hey, I’m just asking questions. Jones has some new fans who have been helping promote him…Kashmir Jihadists.

Two men planned a D.C. Sniper style attack on Seattle’s I-5. The shooter has been identitfied as 31-year-old Richard F. Blake.

The Earth Liberation Front destroyed a radio array in the same state.

President Obama is said to be making depression era “mistakes” in his handling of the economy. I say the mistake part is debatable.

A few years ago I would have had to dig thought the news to find examples of resurgent Communism and revolutionary violence, especially of the overt and violent kind. That I now have to weed out a few from a list of stories I was interested in because the list was too big should worry everyone.

The “Only Idiots Think the Recession is Over” Link Round-Up

All the “economists” who claim the recession is over do so ignoring signs of a looming crisis so obvious that it is clearly willful blindness for them to ignore. Don’t listen to what some shill in a Hope and Change t-shirt is saying, read the news and use your common sense:

Foreclosures Rose 7% from June to July

“More than 360,000 households, or one in every 355 homes, received a foreclosure-related notice, such as a notice of default or trustee’s sale. That’s the highest monthly level since the foreclosure-listing firm began publishing the data more than four years ago.

Banks repossessed more than 87,000 homes in July, up from about 79,000 homes a month earlier.”

Retail Sales unexpectedly dipped in July

The latest government reports reinforced concerns about how quickly consumers will be able to contribute to a broad economic recovery.

“There is really no positive spin to put on these numbers,” Jennifer Lee, an economist with BMO Capital Markets, wrote in a research note. “The U.S. consumer remains very weak. The jobs situation, while slowly improving, is still dismal.”

Wal-Mart posts flat profits but beats expectations– Another report that shows American consumerism, which is the engine of the global economy, is not going to drag companies out of this mess. As goes Wal-Mart so to the mom and pop shops in small towns everywhere.

The 10 Fastest Dying Cities met for a symposium– Here’s a little vignette to explain why there is no hope for these future ruins:

Dayton Mayor Rhine McLin ran to the podium for her talk. “If you look under the surface, you will see that we are developing a boutique city,” she said. She didn’t elaborate on what she meant.

But the city is working with hospitals, universities and a U.S. Air Force base to rebuild neighborhoods. About 500 abandoned structures will be razed this year with $3.5 million in federal stimulus money. Neighbors can annex the empty lots or the city will plant prairie grass and call them parks, said John Gower, Dayton’s director of planning and community development.

“We can’t go back and recreate the neighborhoods of the 1950s and 1960s, but we have a huge opportunity to create a new form for our cities,” Mr. Gower said. “People want to live in beautiful places near green space.”

Traders are bracing for a September collapse – You should be too!

The Fed purchased $6.6 Billion dollars in of its own treasuries – Hyperinflation here we come!

Billions of dollars in bad loans still threaten U.S. Banks.

Frequent government intervention to stop the bust part of capitalism’s natural boom and bust cycle have spared many generations minor pain by pushing all that economic pain down the road. This financial game of kick the can worked great for a time, but as the government tightens its control on the economy that can isn’t going to have anyone to kick it further down the line. Massive taxes coming down the pike to pay for the Democrats’ bribing, I mean spending, spree will destroy the last of the productive Americans including those businesses that make civilization possible like small farms which we are losing at an alarming rate.

So the economists may be right, we may be out of the “recession” and into something much worse.
