I’ve long said we were entering an another ice age, and promoted the book Not by Fire but by Ice which may have had some problems with the research but the conclusions were right. Now NASA has confirmed that due to decreasing solar activity we will enter an ice age soon if we aren’t in one already. Global warming my ass:

NASA and the ESA agree, and so does the Russian space agency, Roscosmos—the sun is headed for a Grand Solar Minimum and a Grand Cooling will commence.

The aptly named Grand Cooling is exactly what it implies: the sun is going to cool. That cooling will also cool off the Earth. It will last from 30 to 50 years.

What exactly does global cooling mean? Well for one, Al Gore was sure wrong! The Earth isn’t going to warm, it’s going to get colder. Much colder. So cold a little or full-blown Ice Age will ensue. As a matter of fact, some scientists claim we’re already in the early stages of an Ice Age.

It is unfortunate that Al Gore’s inconvenient truth turned out to be a fallacy. Global warming is much preferable to the climate the Earth actually seems on the verge of slipping into within a few short years.

Depending on the severity of the Ice Age, agriculture could be severely affected and millions could perish.

There are country destabilizing food riots now, as it gets colder each year things are going to get worse and worse.

What the hell? Great work Obama and nice cover up. This ain’t from Infowars or some cretin’s website either – but a local news channel that stumbled on the biggest story of the year.

Generous pensions are unsustainable and that’s not an ideological state, it’s simple math. What exactly is the USPS supposed to do when they can’t pay mandated obligations?

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) — The U.S. Postal Service warned Wednesday that it may default on some of its financial obligations later this year after reporting yet another quarterly loss.

The USPS, a self-supporting government agency that receives no tax dollars, said it suffered a loss of $329 million in the first quarter of federal fiscal year 2011. That compared with a loss of $297 million a year earlier.

The agency has been suffering from an ongoing decline in mail volume, which has undercut revenues, while retiree health care costs have been straining its reserves.

Excluding costs related to retiree benefits and adjustments to workers’ compensation liability, the Postal Service said it had net income was $226 million in the first quarter, which ended Dec. 31.

Despite ongoing cost-cutting efforts, the USPS said it expects to have a cash shortfall this year and to hit its federally mandated borrowing limit by September, when the government’s fiscal year ends.

The agency said it will be forced to default on some of its financial obligations this year unless Congress changes a 2006 law requiring it to pay between $5.4 and $5.8 billion into its prepaid retiree health benefits each year.
