MS-13 Threatening New York Politician

For those of you who think waving a magic wand (legalizing pot) will make violent drug gangs disappear (it isn’t as if there aren’t other drugs to sell) because they are purely driven by the desire to push drugs and have no other agenda I present this story from New York:

UTNAM LAKE – State Assemblyman Greg Ball, R-Patterson, said this afternoon that he won’t be intimidated because someone dumped a dead goat outside his Putnam Lake home Wednesday night.

State police are investigating but declined to release much information, citing the open case.

“Whether this crime was perpetrated by gang members, or some sick local individual, I will not be cowed by threats, and I condemn this kind of heinous violent behavior towards animals,” Ball said. “I want my constituents to know that I will continue my efforts to stand up every day for justice, and the people of the Hudson Valley.”

A note written on cardboard in a crude Spanish was tied around the goat’s neck and made a vulgar reference to Ball. It also said viva MS-13, an apparent reference to Mara Salvatrucha, a notorious Central American gang that some of Ball’s political allies have said operates in Brewster although police have never found credible evidence of its presence.

“It looked as though the animal had been trapped or dragged,” Ball said.

Meanwhile, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said today that it will provide increased personal security for Ball in the wake of the incident, although it declined to say how.

“When such a menacing act is directed against a government official, it may be perceived as an effort to chill or even thwart the workings of government by threat of violence; in such a case, it may be said that all of society is being victimized by the deed,” Capt. William McNamara said in an e-mail today.

MS-13 is growing in New York and New Jersey and have a history of destabilizing areas they take root in. MS-13 differs from the mafia in that the mob wanted society to continue as it did, while MS-13 seeks to transform its territory into fiefdoms under complete control of the gang. MS-13 was formed in part by the alliance of a violent gang with Marxist trained guerrillas in El Salvador and they have never left the third-world war-zone mentality behind.

Now would be a good time to move out of New York State.

  1. There’s very little evidence that M-13 has anything to do with anything in this particular case. The Assemblyman has a history of unprovable histrionics and claims repeatedly that he’s being attacked – but won’t ever say by whom. There’s a lot more going on here than meets the eye.

One story from a dubious source does not require anyone moving out of NY State nor does it signal an increase in activity from a group that doesn’t even exist anywhere near where the “crime” took place.

  2. Green,

Do you think brutal gangs like MS-13 or Mexican drug cartels “can not” establish a new chapter of operations? There are some wanted felons as far as North Dakota whom are also illegal immigrants that are involved with the Mexican cartels.

  3. Oh, Rob, get off it! You really need to chill out.

These fine ladies and gentlemen just want to exercise their freedom of speech, and we all know that since sign language is a recognized form of speech, savagely killing a goat to send a message of distaste for someone is protected!

I never thought you of all people would trample the Constitution! And to make up for your attitude, I think you should invite the NY chapter of MS 13 to dinner with Jeff Green for an enjoying conversation about “histrionics” to show there’s no hard feelings and help Mr. Green’s application to their law-abiding oranization.

  4. I’d be with you Joe if the politicians would let you. Self-defense in NY is iffy at best, and MS-13 won’t be hampered by the draconian gun laws you will be. Don’t forget you aren’t allowed body armor there either.

The ball is in MS-13’s court and they will probably control at least half the inner cites by 2012.
