Goya Foods Smoothie Mix Spreading Typhoid in Several States!

Dirty Fruit Packers Spreading Typoid

If it’s Goya it has to be good. If you don’t mind a little Typhoid:

ATLANTA (AP) — A rare U.S. outbreak of typhoid fever has been linked to a frozen tropical fruit product used to make smoothies, health officials reported Thursday.

Seven cases have been confirmed — three in California and four in Nevada. Two more California cases are being investigated. Five people were hospitalized, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said.

The CDC said five of the victims drank milkshakes or smoothies made with frozen mamey (ma-MAY’) fruit pulp. Four of them used pulp made by Goya Foods Inc. of Secaucus, N.J.

The recalled mamey pulp was sold in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington.

Mamey is a sweet, reddish tropical fruit grown mainly in Central and South America. It is also known as zapote or sapote.

The company has recalled packages of the pulp, sold in mostly western states. A sample from one package found in Las Vegas tested positive for the bacteria that causes typhoid, the Food and Drug Administration reported Wednesday.

No other food was linked to the illnesses, which occurred between April and July. The victims range in age from 4 to 31, said CDC spokeswoman Arleen Porcell-Pharr.

Typhoid fever is a life-threatening illness caused by a type of bacteria called Salmonella typhi. It’s become rare in the United States. There are only about 400 cases annually, and most people caught it while traveling abroad.

Symptoms include a sustained fever as high as 103 to 104 degrees, along with headache. weakness, stomach pains or loss of appetite. Some patients have a rash of flat, rose-colored spots. It can be treated with antibiotics.

The disease is still common in the developing world. The bacteria passes through the intestinal tract and often spreads to others through feces-tainted food or water.

Gee, I wonder how a disease common in the third world made it to a factory that needs cheap labor in a blue state full of sanctuary cites?

Goya has not yet commented but has recalled the Mamey pulp. Though to be fair the Center for Disease Control has not been able to state that all the typhoid cases can be traced back to Goya Mamey pulp, but the majority can. Independent tests have also confirmed the presences of bacteria in the fruit. The recalled pulp was sold in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington.

The New Cold War Starts This Coming Week

And it will have severe consequences to our economy as Iran has moved assets in the Strait of Hormuz to choke off our oil supplies if we take any hard line stance against them, or even if Israel tries to hit them which seems sure to happen within the month. Worse once Iran has nukes the New Cold War will turn hot within a few months after Iran installs it’s nukes on medium range missiles:

Border Patrol Ordered to Fall Back from “Too Dangerous” Sections of U.S-Mexico Border

Cochise County Sheriff Larry Denver made this startling charge in an interview you can read at CNS News. If true, this means the government is ordering Border Patrol to cede vast swaths of the border to cartel paramilitaries and their Marxist allies. The reasoning is that it’s too dangerous and worse, may cause an international incident if more shootings happen:

(CNSNews.com) – Sheriff Larry Dever of Cochise County, Ariz., one of four Arizona counties contiguous with the U.S-Mexico border, said Friday that the U.S. Border Patrol has pulled back from parts of the border in his and neighboring counties because manning those areas has become too dangerous.

“And you frankly have Border Patrolmen–and I know this from talking to Border Patrol agents—who will not allow their agents to work on the border because it is too dangerous,” Dever told CNSNews.com in a videotaped interview. “Now what kind of message is that for crying out loud?”

[…]

Dever said there were places where the Border Patrol had pulled back from the border in his county and in neighboring areas both in Arizona and New Mexico.

He pointed out that in Pinal County, 70 miles north of the border, the Bureau of Land Management has put up a sign along a drug smuggling corridor to warn American citizens away from the region because it is too dangerous.

CNSNews.com provided Customs and Border Protection with a transcript of Sheriff Dever’s statement about the Border Patrol pulling back from parts of the border in his area because it is too dangerous.

“There are areas down there in the Tucson Sector where for officer safety reasons, officers aren’t up on the line. For whatever reason–it may be a remote area,” said a CBP spokesperson. “We still have the means to detect entry, whether it is a sensor or a scoped vehicle. So the entry is detected, but the apprehension of the undocumented migrant isn’t affected until they reach a safe area.”

If the border to our country is not a “safe area” it is the Federal governments job to make it safe, no? How far back will U.S. forces have to move before people realize our country is in grave danger?
