Powers Point Pens Hit Piece: John Edwards = Child Rape?

Kirsten Powers is shocked, but apparently not surprised, at the news that sanctimonious socialist John Edwards’ Second Life headquarters was vandalized in a left wing publicity stunt designed to make right wingers look unhinged. I’ll point out the evidence of this at the end of the post.

Powers isn’t surprised because, as she has said several times, John Edwards’ virtual campaign HQ is smack dab in the middle of a vast online orgy of rape and child exploitation which Edwards is implicitly condoning by his HQ’s very presence. Don’t believe me, watch her “report” for yourself:

By the Gods! Why, John Edwards must be some sort of pervert himself to be so closely associated with virtual child porn and rape fantasies. At least that’s what the very well crafted hit piece Powers presents is insinuating. The text that goes along with with her very first vlog reinforces the point so that it’s clear that a vote for Edwards is a vote for skirting child pornography laws and indulging in borderline criminal behavior.

Powers suggests that Edwards should be campaigning to clean up Second Life, you know, the way her Buddy Al Gore and his wife “cleaned up” Heavy Metal. Powers puts Edwards between a rock and a hard place on this one, because should he ignore her he’ll be accused of endorsing vile Internet behavior, but if he starts some ridiculous campaign against porn he’ll alienate the very people he’s targeting.

The P.M.R.C. helped Democrats lose the house and senate as kids who were angry at the censorship of their favorite music grew to voting age and refused to support Tipper’s party. I know this because I was one of them. Powers wants Edward to have his own P.M.R.C., hanging over his head like a flashing “I’m a fascist” sign.

Don’t get me wrong, this Jailbait section of Second Life is just an attempt to provide pedophiles with porn and circumvent the law. But why is it John Edwards who should be out campaigning against “age play” and rape sites and not, say, Kirsten Powers? Doesn’t a person running for President of the United States have more important issues to consider?

And that’s the point, pardon the pun. Powers is trying to make Edwards look like a candidate who can’t be taken seriously. We’re left with the impression that Edwards is at best clueless, at worst he and his followers are a bunch of perverts. “Here I am in Edwards’ HQ, look no one’s here” she exclaims as she pans to the Jailbait area. If it didn’t involve virtual child porn, it’d be funny.

Then just days later, “Republicans” vandalize the Edwards HQ with vile racist propaganda. We know they’re Republicans because it says Republican on their avatar? Powers, as part of her hit on Edwards, wandered around his HQ with the word “Terrorist” above her head. It was an accident, she swears.

The exit question, as others would say, is why Republicans, who’ve had a great time bashing Liberals for their black face fetish, would then put Edwards in black face? Sounds like someone imitating what they think Republicans act like to me. Maybe someone with an ax to grind against Edwards and the “vast right wing conspiracy,” and who conveniently once learned at the feet of the master. But, I’ll go no further. I wouldn’t want to be accused of writing a hit piece.
