Al-Qaeda Set to Strike France

Via Expatica:

DUBAI, May 15, 2007 (AFP) – An Al-Qaeda front group in Europe threatened on Tuesday to launch bloody attacks in France in response to the election of “crusader and Zionist” Nicolas Sarkozy as president.

“As you have chosen the crusader and Zionist Sarkozy as a leader … we in the Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades warn you that the coming days will see a bloody jihadist campaign … in the capital of Sarkozy,” the group’s “Europe division” said in an Internet statement addressed to the French people.

The campaign will be “against all those who allow themselves to follow the policy” of the US administration, said the statement whose authenticity could not verified.

The Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades takes its name from an Al-Qaeda commander killed during the US-led invasion of Afghanistan in October 2001.

The group previously claimed responsibility for the July 2005 terror attacks in London, as well those in Madrid in March 2004 and in Istanbul in November 2003.

Just after the London bombings, the group warned European nations to pull their troops out of Iraq within a month or face more attacks like them.

I typed the “Zionist” above in bold because it’s important for Americans to note that there are few American politicians, left or right, who don’t fit the Islamist definition of a Zionist. Anyone who thinks Israel has a right to exist, that Jews aren’t part of a world wide cabal and that the holocaust was a real, historical event is basically a Zionist to these people. Zionist, to the Islamist, is just a media friendly way to say “dirty Jew.”

After our ’08 elections, no matter who wins, what are the chances we get a similar message?

Don’t Be Too Hard on Sarkozy

There’s some concern on the right about Sarkozy’s appointments to his cabinet, specifically his appointment of anti-American socialists like Hubert Vedrine to key political positions which, some are saying, would seem to indicate a swing away from his pro-U.S. stance. But this isn’t necessarily the case. Remember, there are riots in France by the far left who have shown that they are willing to use violence against the state to change the outcome of the elections. The rioters are a combination of Islamists and young Marxists, and Sarkozy needs to keep the situation in France from devolving into a civil war between them and his supporters who are mainly center right (for now) with a lot of leftists and moderates fed up with the decline of France.

Sarkozy needs to do two things to get control over France so that his reforms can be instituted. The first is to draw support from the “revolutionaries” by showing them that the left still has a voice in politics. While “reaching across the isle” may backfire in many ways, not the least of which is to convince Marxists that violence is the answer to gaining concessions, it may also stop more people from joining the violent protest movement if they see that their interests are represented in the government they’re trying to overthrow.

The second step is to crack some heads, so thinning out the herd of leftists first is a good idea. The youth in France need to learn that rampaging through the streets every time they feel slighted is actually a big part of what keeps them and their nation from being a serious player on the world stage. But truth be known, kids that fall in with pseudo cults like communism aren’t convinced by essays and speeches, but by spending a little time in the cooler. Sarkozy’s olive branch will soothe some of the more rational rioters, and be a good cover for a new crack down. An added benefit will be to drive a wedge between leftist factions, as those in power in Sarkozy’s government tacitly approve of the “abuse” of their fellow Marxists. If Sarkozy plays his cards right he may be able to divide the left in France into two camps, moderate leftists who obey the laws and violent radicals. That will make things easier on the police, and ultimately France.

So let’s not be too hard on Sarkozy just yet – he’s playing well with a pretty bad hand. I say let’s give him some time to see if his bluff works.

Second Night of Rioting in France

Another night of anti-Sarkozy rioting left hundreds of cars torched and at least one police officer injured. LGF has the scoop on how the international media is minimizing the riots and has the actual toll of the violence. News reports claim that even the Communist Party in France is disowning the left wing rioters:

Police said members of far-left groups and anarchists were involved in the clashes in the cities and that there were also incidents in the high-immigrant suburbs.

“We are not really talking about troublemakers in the suburbs, but apparently (…) about young people on an ideological crusade,” said Jean-Claude Delage of the Alliance union representing law enforcement officers.

The Communist Party condemned the violence, blaming “a small number of people who have seized on the presidential election as a pretext for harmful acts of no political significance.”

In the southernwestern city of Toulouse, three police officers were injured by projectiles during clashes in which more than 60 cars were set alight. Twenty two people were detained, according to a local police spokesman.

A creche was set on fire during clashes in the northern city of Lille between anti-Sarkozy protesters and police, in which 46 people were detained and 61 cars torched.

That part in bold must really irk Communist Jihad supporter Lenin’s Tomb who was set to give more support to his radical friends. What to do, follow the party’s directives, or cheer on the mayhem and violence you crave? Poor Lenin’s going to lose some sleep on this one.

Communist Blogger Supports “Paris Jihad”

From No Parasan, who I keep linking to because of the events in France, I hope it’s no bother.

The quote is from yet another racist, White “revolutionary” who thinks that Sarkozy cleaning up the suburbs, and thus ending a wave of gang rapes which mainly target very young non-white girls, is an attack on the exploited downtrodden masses he couldn’t be bothered to associate with personally.

The media has covered the epidemic of gang rape in the run down suburbs of Paris before, and the horrific conditions for young girls are the subject of books and movies, but “Lenin” is unmoved. He believes that another few years of socialist rule, where the perpetrators of these atrocities are ignored or at best treated as victims of poverty and colonialism, would be infinitely better for the young girls who are being raped even as he types out his next screed than law and order.

So he claims he’ll support the “Jihad” (a telling choice of words) to protest the election of a man who ran partly on a platform of ending crime, including the gang rapes of innocent teenage girls, because in this sheltered armchair revolutionary’s view, the suffering of these women is not important, certainly not as important as his allegiance to a failed ideology.

Not that he seemed to physically support the “Paris Jihad” as his report on the first night of rioting is basically second hand accounts and analysis by others. I guess the weight of his self righteousness keeps him from getting up off the couch to take part in the revolution.

This is just another example, as minor as it is, of the racism and misogyny of the left. Where were the calls for a Jihad to end the gang rapes? Where was his righteous fury at the groups of men forcing themselves on young girls? It was non-existent, because Black or Arab girls being raped is a small price to pay for living in his Marxist dreamland.

France is Burning

“Progressive” politics leads to massive violence yet again as youths indoctrinated into a culture that idealizes revolutionary violence against those who are deemed “counter revolutionary” rampage through France. 78 police officers have been wounded in clashes with violent supporters of the defeated socialist party and more than 700 cars have been set on fire.

Atlas has extensive coverage of this latest example of far left politics in action, including video links. No Pasaran has up close and personal video of the rioting and of course YouTube has tons of videos uploaded in some cases by the rioters themselves.

This is the sort of “direct action” and “people powered” politics the left in this country is trying to create: violence, criminality and anarchy on the streets as a replacement for debate, discussion and democracy. Wish France good luck, and hope that one day it isn’t America that burns.
