McCain’s positions are no different really than Joe Lieberman, who while a man of great personal integrity is not a Republican. We need to support people who are Republicans, not hawkish Democrats.

Stop the Madrassa Coalition Holding Press Conference at 11:00am

Join the Stop the Madrassa at their conference this morning at city hall where they will discuss the chaotic conditions the Board of Education allows the Khalil Gibran to wallow in. From yesterday’s press release:

January 30, 2008, New York, NY — The Stop the Madrassa Community Coalition will hold a press conference at 11am tomorrow on the steps of City Hall to call for an immediate and thorough investigation into reportedly “chaotic” conditions at the Khalil Gibran International Academy (KGIA) and demand that the school be closed at once and the students be offered a real education at a functioning school as mandated by law.

This week, new and shocking allegations of disorder, confusion and neglect were leveled at the Brooklyn-based Arabic school, which has been under fire since its inception. Stop the Madrassa is calling for a complete investigation into what is being called a “chaotic” learning environment at the school, which now has its third principal in six months.

Stop the Madrassa filed an Article 78 Proceeding in the Supreme Court of the State of New York against Mayor Bloomberg’s Department of Education following an insufficient response to requests under the Freedom of Information Law for complete information concerning textbooks, lesson plans and design documents being used at the Khalil Gibran International Academy.

Stop the Madrassa, since the school opened in September, has expressed concern about the possible intrusion of radical Islamist ideology and influences into the school, as well as separation of religion and state issues. The Department of Education failed to adequately respond to Stop the Madrassa’s FOIL request in a timely fashion before the school opened.

If the Department of Education had responded promptly, the public might have known just how disorganized, unstable and chaotic this public school was going to become.

A.N.S.W.E.R. Behind Upcoming Anti-Israeli Rallies

Never ones to shy away from anti-semitism and support for terror, communist front group and veteran conspiracy mongers A.N.S.W.E.R. are one of the driving forces behind the upcoming protests in front of Israeli embassies in the U.S. which will be attended by radical Islamist organizations which support terror in Israel and America. Here’s the letter A.N.S.W.E.R. is sending out to drum up volunteers (and money) for their fascist hate fest:

The A.N.S.W.E.R. (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) Coalition, joins with the National Council of Arab Americans, Free Palestine Alliance, Muslim American Society Freedom Foundation, Palestinian American Women’s Association, Al-Awda Palestine Right of Return Coalition and other anti-war and progressive organizations in calling for emergency protests demanding an immediate end to the Israeli blockade and siege of Gaza. Protests will take place on January 25-26 at Israeli embassies, consulates, U.S. federal buildings and other locations.

More than 1.5 million Palestinian people living are suffering from life-threatening shortages of food, medicines, fuel and other vital necessities, caused by the Israeli military’s sealing-off of one of the most densely populated areas of the world. Gaza City is blacked-out at night, including hospitals. Doctors must examine patients by candlelight.

The crisis is growing more severe by the day. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) and the World Food Programme, which together supply food to more than two-thirds of the population, have stated that unless the blockade is lifted they will be forced to stop operations by this weekend. A cut-off in aid would threaten an already food-deprived population with mass starvation. The great majority of Gaza residents are from refugee families, driven out of other parts of Palestine when the state of Israel was created in 1948.

The Israeli government imposed a blockade on Gaza after the Hamas party was democratically elected in January 2006. The Bush administration backed Israel’s action. Last week, Israel tightened the blockade, sealing off Gaza, supposedly because of Palestinian attacks by the military wing of Hamas. Yet, on December 23, 2007, Israel rejected Hamas call for ceasefire negotiations. Since then, Israeli air and ground attacks have killed dozens of Palestinians and wounded hundreds more in Gaza, most of them civilians. In 2007, 373 Palestinians were killed in Gaza and the West Bank, compared to just 13 Israeli deaths.

Unsurprisingly, A.N.S.W.E.R. places the ultimate blame for the middle east problems on the creation of Israel, implying of course that the dismantling of Israel will solve all the ills of the middle east. Also note that the constant barrage of rocket attacks from Hamas is minimized in way that both casts doubt on the veracity of reports of the attacks and dehumanizes the Jews who are targeted.

A.N.S.W.E.R. has exposed itself as being not an anti-war organization but a violent radical organization whose allegiance is not to peace and justice, but to the destruction of freedom world wide. The proved it when they supported the Burmese communist massacres of Buddhist monks, and they’ll prove it by standing with groups that call for the death of Jews now.

Heroic Prison Inmates Save Prison Guard from Rapist

When I read a story like this one it reminds me of the old saying from the Havamal:

RIDGEVILLE, S.C. — Three inmates at a medium-security prison saved a female correctional officer who was being attacked by a convicted sex offender.

Authorities said that just after midnight on Friday, inmate George Salisbury cornered the officer in a dormitory control room at MacDougall Correctional Institution. The officer screamed for help, and three other inmates broke into the room that had been locked and overpowered Salisbury.

The three inmates assisted the officer who was transported to a hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Salisbury was transferred to Lieber Correctional Institution, a maximum security facility in Ridgeville.

Salisbury is serving a 15-year sentence that began in March 2001. He was convicted of criminal sexual conduct with a minor in Berkeley County.

Officials said Salisbury faces criminal charges in the attack on the officer.

I hope the three inmates who helped that officer get some time shaved off their sentences, or if that’s no possible maybe some extra commissary privileges.

The Case Against McCain and for Fred Thompson

John McCain has stood side by side with Democrats and authored assault after assault on our free speech and individual liberty. Here’s a short list of leftist bills sponsored by McCain that run not just counter to mainstream Republicanism, but are anti-American at their core.

Fred Thompson stands in stark contrast to McCain as a man who values conservative principles over the feel good bi-partisanship endorsed by McCain. He in fact stands in stark contrast to all the Republican front runners and is the clear choice of any voter who loves our country more than they love faddish political stands:
