Kierra Bell is a Patriot

Posted in Patriotism by Rob Taylor on April 30th, 2008

John Conyers’ wife Monica is on the Detroit City Council. She acts exactly the way you’d expect the wife of a man that supports World Can’t Wait to act. Few people hold the feet of people like Monica Conyers to the fire, but one brave little girl stood up to a woman who was used to getting her way through bullying, threats and outrageous behavior.

Kierra Bell lectured Conyers on manners, something Conyers needed a long time ago, and in so doing showed Mrs. Conyers that we live in a country of equals. For too long politicians and their wives and the hangers on who infest government have held themselves to be beyond reproach and the tenor of political discourse in this country has suffered for it.

Kierra Bell speaks for all Americans, left and right, Black and White, when she demands of Conyers a commitment to comport herself as a professional and for that she is a patriot worthy of all our admiration.

Here’s the video. Kierra grilling Conyers starts around 2:43:

The worst part is that Conyers seems to be arguing the point that she shouldn’t be expected to act differently than a child. Par for the course with the Conyers.

I think Kierra bell might become the official prosecutor for Red Alerts. What do you think? When ever someone argues something spurious and nonsensical I’ll just pull out this graphic as a warning:

As one Hot Air commenter put it, Kierra took Conyers to school.

American Privateers Fire on Iranian Boats

Posted in Patriotism, The Front by Rob Taylor on April 25th, 2008

Had I known you could still receive what amounted to a Letter of Marque I wouldn’t be sitting in front of a computer now, I’d be on a Carrack in the Persian gulf striking the Red Jack like fellow transplant to South Carolina Christopher Moody.

Anyone want to buy a blog, I’ve got provisions to lay in.

From Reuters:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A cargo ship hired by the U.S. military fired warning shots at boats suspected to be Iranian, the U.S. Navy said on Friday, underscoring tension in the Gulf as the Pentagon sharpened its warnings to Tehran.

According to American defense officials, the Westward Venture cargo ship chartered by the U.S. Defense Department was traveling in international waters when two unidentified small boats approached on Thursday.

After the boats failed to respond to radio queries and a warning flare, the cargo ship’s onboard security team fired “a few bursts” of machine gun and rifle warning shots, according to Cmdr. Lydia Robertson, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Navy’s Bahrain-based Fifth Fleet.

“The small boats left the area a short time later,” she said by telephone. “They were able to avoid a serious incident by following the procedures that we use.”

The news helped push oil prices up more than $3 to $119.50 a barrel — within striking distance of the record $119.90 hit earlier this week — as traders worried escalating tensions in the region could eventually disrupt crude shipments.

Well if oil prices are going to spike let’s put our privateers to work! Just in case you think this is an isolated incident:

In March, another U.S. military-chartered ship preparing to cross the Suez Canal fired warning shots at a small boat, killing an Egyptian on board.

American privateers don’t mess around, and seem to be able to do the job the English navy can no longer do, that is defend themselves on the high seas.

Hot Air has a more timid examination. Figures those land lubbers would go all soft and not raise a toast to the bloody handed sea dogs who sent those Iranian Mahdi-lovers packing. They’re working off a BBC report but I won’t link to a hack outfit like them who make up news.

KPTM has more.

I say to the crew of The Westward Venture well done lads, well done indeed.

Update: Yes Jawa readers I know these are not technically Privateers, they’re federal employees. What I didn’t know was that the Internet was full of tiresome killjoys. Leave your corrections in the comments and stop emailing me.

Rachel Marsden Video (Plus Bonus Bikini Pics)

Posted in Patriotism by Rob Taylor on April 21st, 2008

Not bikini pics of Marsden you understand, just a little something for the 12 people a day who get to Red Alerts by searching the terms “bikini” “Rachel Marsden” and “Video” or variations of that theme.

First up is video of the lovely and talented pundit who lives a rock star kind of life. Marsden’s returned to her blog after a brief hiatus and is promising to do a regular vlog while taking in the scenery of former Red Alerts stronghold New York City. In this one she’s down by the south street seaport talking politics and showing us all how Nicolas Sarkozy is supposed to be pronounced:

Nice. Now that Michelle Malkin thinks doing a daily Vent is beneath her Marsden can swoop in and become vlog queen of the rightosphere. Keep ‘em coming Rachel!

But what about those bikini pics I promised? All right, how about these photos of Hellfireblogs favorite web model Tara Bush:

Kind of a bikini

MySpace Shocker! A News Story Featuring Good Parenting

Posted in Crime News, Patriotism, Victimless Crime Files by Rob Taylor on April 17th, 2008

An Illinois mother showed a world full of slacker parents how it’s done when she discovered her teen daughters MySpace page was full references to her stonerdom. Let’s just say she’s a “tough love” kind of gal:

ZION — A revelation on a MySpace page resulted in an April 8 arrest of a 17-year-old on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

The teen’s mother said she was alerted to her daughter’s marijuana use when she read the daughter’s MySpace page that was left open on her computer. The mother told police she read a conversation between her daughter and a friend that included statements of smoking “weed” and possessing “weed,” a police report stated.

The next day, the mother told police, she found her daughter’s digital camera in the family’s living room. The camera had a stored video clip of a friend of the daughter’s apparently smoking marijuana with a pipe.

The mother found the pot and the pipe in her daughter’s sweatshirt the next day, and brought it to Zion police headquarters.

Awesome. That’s how parenting is supposed to look. Tough, fair and forward looking. The kid got charged with possession, and her friends bailed on her (of course) claiming they only “simulated” smoking pot with her. After taking the rap alone you think she’ll realize what kind of people you end up surrounded with when you’re a stoner?

And who says pot doesn’t affect your decision making skills? She left her pot reference covered MySpace open where her mom could see it and filmed herself getting high. Sounds to me like she either wanted to be caught or she was seriously “burned” as we used to say decades ago. Either way her mother was there to pick up the mess, good job mom!

Support Jamiel’s Law

Posted in Crime News, Homeland Security, Patriotism by Rob Taylor on April 8th, 2008

jamiel-shaw-murdered-by-latino-gang-member.jpg

Make no mistake, we are responsible for the senseless death of Jamiel Shaw, who was gunned down by an illegal immigrant gang member who had just been released 24 hours before from jail on weapons charges.

Doug McIntyre makes the case for our collective guilt in this poor boy’s death:

And here’s how America let Sgt. Shaw down: Pedro Espinosa should never have been allowed into this country.

Here’s how California failed Sgt. Shaw: It allowed Pedro Espinosa to live in a state that does nothing about its open borders except shift the blame to Washington.

Here’s how Los Angeles failed Sgt. Shaw: We accommodated gangs, we still throw out the welcome mat for illegal aliens, we allowed Pedro Espinosa to serve 180 days on gun charges without checking his immigration status. We released Espinosa onto the streets, and 24 hours later he murdered Jamiel Shaw II.

While Jamiel’s mother patrolled the streets of Baghdad, helping spare Iraqi mothers the grief Los Angeles visited upon her, we did nothing. This transcends outrage. It’s obscene.

The ultimate responsibility for the murder of Jamiel Shaw rests with the triggerman. But let me be blunt - the cowardice of local politicians who hide behind political correctness and racial pandering as an excuse to look the other way on the mounting death toll perpetrated by illegal aliens are enablers of death.

This may be uncomfortable for some to read. I assure you it’s uncomfortable to write. Jamiel Shaw’s death was preventable. The president, Congress, the governor, the state Legislature, the mayor, the City Council, the County Board of Supervisors, the chief of police, the county sheriff - all of us failed him.

The son of a U.S. solider was murdered on the streets of L.A. What are we going to do about it? What are you going to do about it?

McIntyre’s right. Jamiel Shaw’s mother was valiantly serving in Iraq when a gang banger who should have been deported when he was arrested for illegal gun possession murdered her son. He shouldn’t have been in the country at all. But he was because L.A. is a sanctuary city.

Candidate for Mayor Walter Moore is making the passing of Jamiel’s law a platform in his campaign. He has teamed with Jamiel’s grieving family and is asking the public to help by applying pressure on the local politicians to pass this important law.

Contact information for the Shaws, Moore and the City Council can be found here. If you have a moment go and do what you can for them.

Here’s a summary of Jamiel’s law and Walter Moore’s platform. I don’t live in L.A. but his standing up for Jamiel Shaw makes me think he deserves a look.

Call the L.A. City Council and tell them to pass Jamiel’s law today, so that the won’ be another Jamiel Shaw tommorow.
