Don’t be a Sucker

This is an old anti-fascist film that has a message as timely now as it was when it was made. it’s only 20 minutes long so settle in and when it gets to the part about Nazis think of those City Year commercials and try not to shudder.

The Alex Jones set takes a hit in here too. Seems like all those Freemason conspiracies have been stolen from Nazis. Explains a lot, doesn’t it.

Enjoy and show this to an Obama supporter, especially one who thinks disagreeing with Obama is treason like Stephanie Miller has claimed publicly:

Obama Plans Assault Weapon Ban!

vote-for-change.jpg

I warned all you Libertarians, Paulnuts and Alex Jones groupies that you should hold your noses and vote Republican in this election, but you said “No way man, besides if Obama wins the Democrats will move to the center to keep power!” which you knew in your hearts was bull. Now they’ve announced their desire to make “some changes” to gun laws, including a ban on the sale of assault weapons no doubt in preparation for rounding up non-Obamunists when the so-called stimulus bill collapses the economy.

From Obama propagandist Jason Ryan of ABC, who tries to sugar coat the latest gun grab:

The Obama administration will seek to reinstate the assault weapons ban that expired in 2004 during the Bush administration, Attorney General Eric Holder said today.

“As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons,” Holder told reporters.

Holder said that putting the ban back in place would not only be a positive move by the United States, it would help cut down on the flow of guns going across the border into Mexico, which is struggling with heavy violence among drug cartels along the border.

“I think that will have a positive impact in Mexico, at a minimum.” Holder said at a news conference on the arrest of more than 700 people in a drug enforcement crackdown on Mexican drug cartels operating in the U.S.

Mexican government officials have complained that the availability of sophisticated guns from the United States have emboldened drug traffickers to fight over access routes into the U.S.

A State Department travel warning issued Feb. 20, 2009, reflected government concerns about the violence.

“Some recent Mexican army and police confrontations with drug cartels have resembled small-unit combat, with cartels employing automatic weapons and grenades,” the warning said. “Large firefights have taken place in many towns and cities across Mexico, but most recently in northern Mexico, including Tijuana, Chihuahua City and Ciudad Juarez.”

So our Second Amendment Rights come second to Mexican security. I’m more sympathetic to Mexico than most people on the right and I say no way. Notice also that civilian semi-automatic assault rifles are not the problem in Mexico, as civilian owned “assault rifles” are already modified to keep them from automatic fire. This is the same lie the Democrats used in the 1990s and the media is promoting it again. The sales of automatic weapons are already prohibited – you need a special license from the ATF and only police and bonded security contractors can own grenades – and as far as I know they don’t own frags. The Cartels are not getting their military weapons from American gun shops.

Another lie is that the first AWB made it illegal to sell Assault rifles. It only made it illegal to import or produce more for sale and existing rifles were still legal. Holder’s phrasing should trouble us all, as it sounds like he’s getting ready to confiscate rifles that are on the market.

Why does Holder need to lie?

Ryan goes on:

During his confirmation hearing, Holder told the Senate Judiciary Committee about other gun control measures the Obama administration may consider.

“I think closing the gun show loophole, the banning of cop-killer bullets and I also think that making the assault weapons ban permanent, would be something that would be permitted under Heller,” Holder said, referring to the Supreme Court ruling in Washington, D.C. v. Heller, which asserted the Second Amendment as an individual’s right to own a weapon.

The Assault Weapons Ban signed into law by President Clinton in 1994 banned 19 types of semi-automatic military-style guns and ammunition clips with more than 10 rounds.

“A semi-automatic is a quintessential self-defense firearm owned by American citizens in this country,” LaPierre said. “I think it is clearly covered under Heller and it’s clearly, I think, protected by the Constitution.”

I like how he minimized the ban by including the number 19 so that AWB opponents look petty. But 19 types of weapons will in reality cover dozens of makes and models including specialty hunting rifles, aftermarket modifications on popular hunting and trapping models and will flat out eliminate the collecting of historical significant militaria. The AWB was used to strip WW II vets of their M1 Garands in New York City and will strip you of your semi-automatic hunting rifle now.

I’m not giving up my guns, what about you?

NYU Protesters Unaware of How Hilariously Funny They Are

Par for the course in any college nowadays we find emotionally stunted “activists” creating a fantasy world of high drama which comes crashing down around them when the rest of the world doesn’t play along. Bear in mind while watching this video the person filming is A) Not an NYU student and B) Supposedly male. Here’s some critical reviews to keep in mind while viewing, then I’ll expect some thoughts on how this video demonstrates the modality of power dynamics from the perspective of “othered” bourgeoisie in post-modern American academia.

Allahpundit: “To be this far over the line into self-parody and yet somehow oblivious to it is hard to fathom; it feels like satire, but it isn’t.”

Greg Gutfeld: “This footage should be mandatory viewing for every young person in America. If the person watching sympathizes with these students, then you know she or she is beyond hope.”

Stick with it until the end, where the radical documentary film maker complains that the police “probably drink corporate water” as he safely tucks away his Apple Macbook. Awesome:

Hope and Change: Is the Obama Administration Railroading Leopold Munyakazi?

It sure seems that way when you read this report from Fox News:

Leopold Munyakazi, 59, taught French at Goucher College, north of Baltimore, until he was suspended with pay after the liberal arts school learned in December that he was wanted in Rwanda. Munyakazi has denied the accusations.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials are taking steps to deport Munyakazi, who was arrested Tuesday at his home in Towson for overstaying his visa, according to agency spokesman Brandon A. Montgomery. Munyakazi was later released from custody but with a monitoring device.

The arrest came a day after the allegations against the professor became public, but Montgomery said the news reports weren’t a factor.

“We don’t rush to get something done just because of the news,” he said.

The genocide accusations stem from 1994, when more than a half-million Tutsis and moderate Hutus were killed in Rwanda after the then-president’s plane was shot down as he returned from negotiating with Tutsi rebels. Munyakazi is Hutu.

“I think they did it under the pressure of the Rwandan government,” Munyakazi said Thursday of his arrest. “They would like to show them that they are doing something about the allegations.”

Andrew Tusabe, second counselor at the Rwandan embassy in Washington, called the arrest a positive step.

“We appreciate the development and ask authorities to send him to Rwanda where he will face justice,” Tusabe said.

Munyakazi is charged with murder and several genocide-related counts, according to a copy of an indictment provided by Munyakazi. Goucher officials said they gave Munyakazi a copy of the indictment, which they received from a Rwandan prosecutor.

Alison Des Forges, senior adviser to Human Rights Watch’s Africa division, reviewed the indictment and said it contained details that do not “fit historical facts of the time.” For instance, it is unlikely that Munyakazi organized a militia associated with a party that was opposed to the party he was affiliated with, Des Forges said.

Given that why the sudden rush to send this guy back to a certain death while everyone is distracted? As the left used to say up until recently, I’m just asking questions!

Update: Here’s a video of the story via Breitbart:

Obama’s Katrina Ignored by Media

42 people are dead as the massive ice storm that ravaged great swaths of America subsides to reveal the devastation that reaches through several states. Over a million people are without power, heat and basic sanitation and are facing sub-zero temperatures in some places, are running low on food and clean water, and cannot even reliably heat their homes or cook food. This is truly a disaster but where is FEMA? Where is Obama?

In Kentucky where 11 people have already been murdered by the criminal ineptitude of this administration, a tiny force of 25 National Guardsmen were deployed to help recovery in hard hit Grayson County, but weren’t given the proper equipment to do so. People are staying in motels and shelters because authorities have no way to ensure their safety if they stay in their homes. It is a scene more chaotic than Katrina and much more dangerous, yet the thousands of Americans in danger of freezing to death are being largely ignored by the same howling masses that called for Bush’s blood after Katrina, even though he authorized the largest rescue effort in American history.

How bad is the disaster?

From the AP:

MARION, Ky. – In some parts of rural Kentucky, they’re getting water the old-fashioned way — with pails from a creek. There’s not room for one more sleeping bag on the shelter floor. The creative are flushing their toilets with melted snow.

At least 42 people have died, including 11 in Kentucky, and conditions are worsening in many places days after an ice storm knocked out power to 1.3 million customers from the Plains to the East Coast. About a million people were still without electric Friday, and with no hope that the lights will come back on soon, small communities are frantically struggling to help their residents.

One county put it bluntly: It can’t.

“We’re asking people to pack a suitcase and head south and find a motel if they have the means, because we can’t service everybody in our shelter,” said Crittenden County Judge-Executive Fred Brown, who oversees about 9,000 people, many of whom are sleeping in the town’s elementary school.

Local officials were growing angry with what they said was a lack of help from the state and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. In Grayson County, about 80 miles southwest of Louisville, Emergency Management Director Randell Smith said the 25 National Guardsmen who have responded have no chain saws to clear fallen trees.

“We’ve got people out in some areas we haven’t even visited yet,” Smith said. “We don’t even know that they’re alive.”

Smith said FEMA has been a no-show so far.

“I’m not saying we can’t handle it; we’ll handle it,” Smith said. “But it would have made life a lot easier” if FEMA had reached the county sooner, he said.

FEMA spokeswoman Mary Hudak said some FEMA personnel already are in Kentucky working in the state’s emergency operations center and that more will be arriving in coming days. Hudak said FEMA also has shipped to 50 to 100 generators to the state to supply electricity to facilities like hospitals, nursing homes, and water treatment plants.

Had Mary Hudak been working for President Bush her cavalier attitude would be untenable. But because Obama’s perfidious cult reaches into the traditional media and alternative media there is scarce criticism of the virtual death sentence hundreds of women and children are living under courtesy of FEMA and Barack Obama:

Thousands of people were staying in motels and shelters, asked to leave their homes by authorities who said emergency teams in some areas were too strapped to reach everyone in need of food, water and warmth. The outages disabled water systems, and authorities warned it could be days or weeks before power was restored in the most remote spots.

That uncertainty had many appealing for help and officials urging those in dark homes to leave, if they could — many were stuck in place by blocked roads and other obstacles.

The storm that began in the Midwest had been blamed or suspected in at least 42 deaths, including 11 in Kentucky, nine in Arkansas, six each in Texas and Missouri, three in Virginia, two each in Oklahoma, Indiana and West Virginia and one in Ohio. Most were blamed on hypothermia, traffic accidents and carbon monoxide poisoning.

From Missouri to Ohio, thousands were waiting in shelters for the power to return. As far away as Oklahoma, around 10,000 customers still had no electricity.

At Graves County High School in western Kentucky, where 490 sought shelter Friday night, Ruthann Taylor, 23, said she tried to ride out the early part of the storm at home with her 1-year-old son, but it simply got too cold.

“I woke up the next morning and my son was pretty much an ice cube,” Taylor said. “I said ‘OK, we’ve got to go.'”

Fuel shortages, a problem since the storm, spilled into the weekend, with radio stations that normally broadcast music telling people where they could get gas and oil businesses ranking customers according to how urgently they needed it.

“We’re trying to prioritize to get fuel to hospitals, nursing homes, ambulance services,” said David Dunlap, regional sales manager for MFA Oil Co., which has 10 locations in southeast Missouri.

As many if not more people are being displaced by this storm, the death toll continues to rise and there is absolutely no outcry by the usual suspects. While Obama poses for the cameras and the media seeks to deify the product of the progressive plantation (and thus themselves and their own foolishness) Americans he has the power to save with the stroke of a pen are dying. Meanwhile our media shows less concern than Australian papers.

Why isn’t anyone asking why?

Gateway Pundit has more.

Update: The death toll is at 55.
