Seattle Man Harassed Autistic Child!

I once read a sanctimonious and immature op-ed piece which claimed Seattle was:

a pearl of brilliant Blue in an oyster bed of Red ignobility and ignorance. While others in the country slump along, their shoulders burdened by what they’ve electorally wrought, we Seattleites have held our heads high with the knowledge that we stand for all that is sensible and good.

It made me chuckle then and even more so after this story of liberal’s inflated sense of self entitlement. From The Seattle Times:

A South Seattle man accused of threatening to burn the home of an autistic child has been charged with malicious harassment, the state’s hate-crime law. Mark Joe Levison, 48, is being held without bail in the King County Jail. Court records show he failed to appear in court for previous charges.

The night of July 8, Acquinnette Engen said she was sitting on the porch of her home in the 5500 block of South Leo Street after putting her three children to bed. She said Levison began yelling at her from his yard across the street and imitating her 13-year-old autistic son.

Engen’s family had just moved in two weeks earlier, she said. Engen said Levison had previously screamed at the autistic boy when he was climbing a tree.

“I’m not dealing with you,” Engen said she told Levison that night.

“Keep your … son in the house or the backyard like a dog. If you don’t I’ll burn the [child’s bedroom] down,” Engen recalled Levison saying.

Engen’s account was similar to that in charging papers.

“It scared me to death,” Engen said Wednesday. “I was terrified.”

She called police.

Responding officers said Levison smelled like alcohol, charging papers said. Levison told the officers, “I pay $1,000 a month rent and shouldn’t have to see that idiot spinning around and staring at my yard,” charging papers said. Levison was charged July 11.

Levison has a severe drinking problem and like any good liberal the mother of the child wants Levison to “get help’ rather than go to jail, even though”helping” alcoholics never works. They have to help themselves.

But I’m sure the good citizens of Seattle will hold Levison’s hand for him while he uses the other to murder someone.

Exit Question: Why didn’t the Autistic child’s father beat the crap out of Levison when he first started hassling his family? Is kicking a drunk’s ass who’s insulting your wife too “Red State” for him?

Pakistan Says U.S. Cannot Hunt Bin Ladin on Pakistan Soil

I guess they’re not with us but President Bush seems to think the new government of Pakistan isn’t against us either. If they won’t kill Bin Ladin or allow us to do it, aren’t they doing the same thing the Taliban did which led to us invading Afghanistan?

The N.T.A. has the money quote from the USA Today article:

Pakistan’s top diplomat said Saturday there are no U.S. or other foreign military personnel on the hunt for Osama bin Laden in his nation, and none will be allowed in to search for the al-Qaeda leader.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said his nation’s new government has ruled out such military operations, covert or otherwise, to catch militants.

“Our government’s policy is that our troops, paramilitary forces and our regular forces are deployed in sufficient numbers. They are capable of taking action there. And any foreign intrusion would be counterproductive,” he said Saturday. “People will not accept it. Questions of sovereignty come in.”

Bin Laden is believed to be hiding somewhere along the rugged and lawless Afghan-Pakistan border region.

Funny, the Al-Qaeda backed and Pakistan allied Taliban haven’t been respecting Afghanistan’s sovereignty of late and Pakistani immigrants to the United Kingdom, many of whom were radicalized in Taliban sympathetic Mosques, are noted for stunning lack of respect for the sovereignty and dignity of Britain.

Pakistan is arguing that we allow them to continue to export Islamic terrorism and wait for them to do what we all know they won’t, which is stop the Taliban and Al-Qaeda from launching attacks on the West and our allies. Worse they’re demanding the world respect their sovereignty when while they send militants to Britain and the U.S. who don’t respect ours.

Relying on friends like Pakistan, our efforts to defend America from another terrorist attack are doomed to failure.

Texas Man Caught With Explosives Near Marina Fuel Tanks

Since the Austin bomb squad was called out this must have happened near Austin. Add this to the fire at the Governor’s mansion and it looks like those Texas Democrats really rallied the troops. From KWTX:

(June 7, 2008)- An early morning high-speed chase Saturday from Bell County to Travis County led to the discovery of a number of explosive devices, ammunition, a large rifle and a handgun in the car of a Morgan’s Point man.

At about 1:45 a.m., Morgan’s Point Police came across a suspicious vehicle near the fuel tanks at the Morgan’s Point Marina.

A man inside the red late-model Ford Mustang was ducking down and officers say he was reaching under the seat.

As a safety procedure, officers started to back away from the vehicle before the driver took off in the car.

A chase ensued through neighborhoods in Temple, through State Highway 317 into Belton, then onto Southbound I-35 through Williamson County and Travis County.

Belton Police, State Troopers and Williamson County and Travis County deputies all assisted in the chase.

The chase finally ended south of Austin when the suspect crashed his vehicle.

When officers approached the man, the suspect shot himself in the face, police said.

He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for surgery.

The Austin Bomb Squad was called to the scene after explosives, ammunition and weapons were found in the vehicle.

Officials dismantled the devices.

Fort Hood’s Explosive Ordinance Detachment Team was dispatched to the man’s residence at 16 Hawthorne Court in Morgan’s Point at about 6:15 a.m.

Nearly 60 homes were evacuated in the area including those of several medically challenged and elderly residents.

The United States Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms dispatched a field agent, a bomb tech and a bomb-detecting dog to the scene.

The Morgan’s Point Fire Department and Scott & White EMS were also sent to the scene along with a prosecutor from the Bell County District Attorney’s Office.

At about 10:30 a.m., a warrant was served and evidence was gathered from the man’s residence.

All neighbors evacuated were allowed to return to their homes at about 12:30 p.m., Saturday.

The suspect, a 48-year-old male whose name is not being released at this time, is reportedly still in surgery.

A 48-year-old male? Isn’t that part of the profile of the average DailyKos blogger? And isn’t it odd that this guy and the Governor’s mansion fire both happened right after the Texas democrats held their convention?

As the left is fond of saying, I‘m just asking questions!

Victimless Crime Files:Kevin Dummett and Kellin Hahn Leave Son Behind While Fleeing Home Invasion

During a home invasion of their house, the two fled the residence when armed assailant shot one of their dogs. They left their 8-year-old son behind to fend for himself.

Yes, really:

An 8-year-old boy slept in his room Tuesday morning while gunmen forced their way into his house, shot and killed a family dog and sent his parents fleeing to the street.

Kevin Dummett, 35, and Kellin Hahn, 26, were the targets of two attempted robberies at their home Tuesday — both carried out by the same two men, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said.

The men approached Dummett in his driveway and tried to rob him at 12:15 a.m. He didn’t call 911. When the gunmen returned at 6 a.m. and broke in through the back door, the family pit bull charged them and was immediately shot.

Hahn and Dummett fled the home, leaving their son asleep in his bedroom, the sheriff’s office said.

We couldn’t get to him,” Dummett told WPEC Channel 12. He said the boy didn’t wake up until deputies arrived to rescue him, after the gunmen fled without taking anything.

“He’s absolutely fine. He’s a trouper.”

Another family dog in the house survived.

Neighbors along Gun Club Road in suburban West Palm Beach thought they lived on a quiet street until gunshots, a search helicopter and a dozen patrol cars woke them.

Dummett told investigators that the invaders apparently wanted drugs or money.

In the last few years, Dummett’s arrest history includes charges of burglary, battery, marijuana possession and driving with a suspended license.

By law, the state Department of Children and Families cannot comment on whether the parents could lose custody of their son after leaving him behind. But whenever the DCF hears about something of this magnitude, spokeswoman Laura Tingo said, the agency works with law enforcement to ensure that all children in the home are safe.

Dummett told the television reporter he didn’t report the first robbery because he didn’t think he could describe the men well enough to help law enforcement catch them.

Jackie Morrow, who has lived across the street for a year, said she thought she heard gunshots a few weeks ago and will continue to be cautious. “I’ll be very vigilant from now on,” she said.

So the real story here is that Dummett, a downward spiralling pot-head, was the target of two guys he either owed money to or who thought he had drugs and money in the house, meaning he’s a dealer. They also came back hours after their original attempt on Dummett, giving him ample time to get his family to a motel for safety, which he couldn’t be bothered doing. Either way another” victimless” drug crime.

Victimless except for the dog who died, who was the only being in the house that tried to do the right thing. And of course the little boy who is just now learning that he can’t count on his parents when the chips are down and he really needs them.

But other than that no one was hurt by their drug user lifestyle. Right?
