Greek “Protesters” Using Lasers on Riot Police

A gang of masked protesters attacked the Greek riot police headquarters Tuesday amid reports that rioters are using lasers to combat police officers.
Authorities trying to contain the gangs of rioters were hit with blinding flashes of green light as the violence in Greece entered a second week, the U.K.’s Daily Mail newspaper reported.
The riot police headquarters in Athens was damaged, but no officers were injured.
Police say a group of 30 youths threw petrol bombs and stones at the building, damaging police vehicles parked outside. The central Athens building is also used by traffic police.
Though laser pointers like the ones probably being used on the riot police are unlikely to cause permanent eye damage in short exposures they do cause flash blindness when encountered at night. The pointers are a sinisterly effective tactic to reduce the efficiency of police which will no doubt be encountered in America as the anarchists and leftists organizing these riots in Greece share the knowledge they have gained from the attacks via the web.

wow this sounds pretty biased against the people here. must be right wing. not all of them are anarchists, you would probably compare them to ‘terrorist’ but truthfully, one mans terrorist is anothers freedom fighter. these people are fighting against a corrupt establishment and go them. as for the few anarchists, its a riot, some people are going to do that, its very under-organized unfortunately, they could do a lot more damage

Trying to burn police officers alive by setting them on fire with Molotov cocktails isn’t fighting a corrupt establishment, it’s bored kids with no morals lashing out at the system that coddled them for too long. I hope they do get the revolution they want, because they’ll be the first ones up against the wall when the Communists take full control.

How the hell does putting fear in average Greek citizens, when their banks, shops, courthouses and holiday treasures such as a Christmas tree are burned classifies them to be “freedom fighters”?

This is why I also believe America should continue its tradition with the Second Amendment. When stuff like this ever happens, you know good American loyalist citizens would be packing heat against these thuggish rioters. That’s why the far left is for gun control, they do not deserve to have American citizens defend themselves from stuff like this if it should ever happen.
I also believe that if you’re no fan of guns, why not some good self-defense martial arts and beat up a few rioters or two?

If you read the news reports you’d see the groups self-identify as communists, and various Marxist groups are still active and important in Europe.
Maybe if you read Marx you’d see that all Socialist and Social Democratic parties are Marxist and have the ultimate goal of achieving the mythical Communist state Marx predicted. The Labor party of England is a Fabian (Socialist) party for example that’s ultimate goal is to move society toward a Communist system. You can read that in a book. Or on their party platform
But you won’t, because it’s easier to hit blogs like DU and form opinions based on the Daily Show.
