John Hagee: Truth to Power

I’m not a Christian, partly because I believe that religious truth is experiential and thus cannot be transmitted through an organized faith, only through individual action, but also because Christians embrace weakness, victimhood and self martyrdom in a way that has always made me doubt they understand the reality of existence. Christianity, and its secular offshoot liberalism, are in some sense responsible for the inability of Western Civilization to effectively counter the growing influence of Radical Islam and resurgent Communism and Nazism. In their zeal to embrace all people, to love their neighbors and turn the other cheek, many well meaning Christians and liberals have betrayed us, and have set the stage for our annihilation.

John Hagee is not one of those Christians, however. He is a fiery, patriotic pastor who sees the truth of the war we’re already in but have not begun fighting. He is a passionate supporter of our ally Israel, and reminds us that we need not qualify our support for our Jewish friends, and he is a critic of the suicidal policies of Europe who won’t be cowed by the false charges of racism leftists throw out at their opponents. I’m still not a Christian, but I support John Hagee, at least in his stand against Islamic imperialism.

Here are two videos via MosqueWatch that are actually parts 4 and 5 of a 5 part clip of a Hagee sermon accompanied by some disturbing images of Islamism in action. The images aren’t for children – you’ve been warned. The first three clips are on YouTube, but the real show starts here:

The last minute and a half or so of the second vid is just Hagee ministering which is touching, but irrelevant so once you hear him talking about the rapture, if you’re not a Christian the show’s over. Hagee and I will likely disagree on most social issues, and certainly on theological issues, especially his post millennial millennialism, but when it comes to World War III and defending America I’m on his side.

  1. Hagee is an ignorant racist…he stands for everything I find disgusting about radical Christianity. I find it extremely disturbing you would support this awful devil of a man.

  2. Jenny – that is a harsh accusation to make without any substantiation, and quite frankly, without evidence you just sound foolish and spiteful.

While, like you, I strongly disagree with many of Hagee’s evangelical Christian stances (for example, his views on homosexuality), I have not seen any proof of racism on his part. Quite the contrary, he has repeatedly spoken out against anti-Semitism and has demonstrated laudable and unwavering support of Israel.

That said, I am not overly familiar with Hagee’s work, so please, if you can, share with us the evidence that he is an “ignorant racist.”

  3. Jenny, I’ve many family members who are “born again” all of whom are Black. Evangelical Christians, for all their faults which are numerous, racism is rarely one of them.

You call him a Devil of a man, you seem rather radical yourself. I just posted the vids because it was nice to see a Christian finally standing up for Western Civilization instead of excusing the barbarity of Islamic imperialism.

  4. A man like John Hagee is part of the problem his supporters think he is solving. While Jenny might seem extreme, I understand and sympathize with her. I used to like Hagge and his preaching, then it got heavier and heavier into radicalism and dark descent into something akin to the Islamic world view of a Bin Laden. I love Christ, but men like Hagee usurp and tarnish the image of a righteous God. I also think Hagee has racial prejudices because I have listened to a lot of his preachings. You are right Jenny.
