Ron Paul: Communist Massacre of Three Million Not So Bad

I guess his claim is that it could have been worse. Libertarian Republican takes the insane conspiracy theorist to task over comments about the American pull out from Vietnam made on some lefty news show:

From ABC News with George Stephanolpoulous, July 9:

Stephanopoulous pressed Paul on his calls for immediate withdrawal of the troops from Iraq, saying, “Don’t we have a responsibility to those we leave behind?”

“It’s a tragedy of what’s happening, what we’re going to leave behind,” replied Paul. “But we don’t know it’s going to be as bad as those who are predicting bad things — just remember, the people who are predicting these very, very dire things to happen are the same ones who predicted it would be a cakewalk. … Think of Vietnam. It worked out much better than anybody predicted.”

An estimated 2 million Cambodians and over 1 million South Vietnamese were brutally slaughtered by the Communists after the pull-out of American forces in the Spring of 1975. Apparently, the Congressman from Texas does not believe that was such a big deal.

As Paul says above, the pull-out from Vietnam “worked out much better than anybody predicted.”

What a awful human being. It’s no wonder only the dregs of society are attracted to him.

  1. Nice slanderous hit piece. I don’t think he was condoning the slaughter of 3 million people. I think he was just pointing out that we have normal relations with Vietnam now which is far better than would have been expected.

Also, there are many people that are not the “dregs of society” that support him. For example, he received more donations from the military in the second quarter than any other candidate. I guess our fine troops are the “dregs of society”.

  3. Much like the Ron Paul supporters spamming internet polls or gaming Digg, I’m sure the “military” supporters story will turn out to be more Paulites perpetrating a hoax on a dumbed down media. I’ll buy that our military overwhelming supports Paul when his supporters walk up to me in uniform with their military I.D.’s and declare they support a isolationist truther for president.

  4. Don’t you think it’s a bit harsh to call Ron Paul an awful human being, and call his supporters “the dregs of society?” Yeah, some of his supporters on the Internet can be a bit goofy, and all the 9/11 conspiracy talk grows tiresome, but here is a candidate talking about small, limited government. He’s someone who wants to do away with the IRS. He wants to rein in government spending. Ron Paul is a man of libertarian principles who practices what he preaches. He doesn’t strike me as some of devil, and I’m baffled as to why anybody would think of him in that light, particularly one who calls himself a ‘conservative.’ Personally, I’m supporting Tom Tancredo for president, but Ron Paul is an easy second choice.

  5. Here’s a person who distributed a newsletter in the ’90’s that made racist comments about Blacks (I’m half Black myself) and has appeared on the Alex jones show dozens of times claiming that the New World Order is secretly running the world.

I was a Libertarian once, when I was a pot smoking teenager. Then I grew up and realized that almost the entire Libertarian party is comprised of drugged up child molesters. I don’t say Paul’s the devil, just a crank who appeals to people who hate this country and dream of living in a compound with two or three underaged girls. Also Klanners, anarchists and almost everyone who plays World of Warcraft. These, by the way, are dregs.

Spamming polls, making death threats against critics and spreading conspiracy theories, these are all the hallmarks of dregs. Paul knows his followers do all this, and doesn’t care, thus he is awful.

But in this case, saying that the death of three MILLION people at the hands of communists isn’t a big deal, by itself, would make Paul an awful human being.
