This time the pot smoker actually isn’t the only person responsible. Apparently 30-year-old Emanuel Lawrence was enabled by his old lady who worked all day and went to school at night while Lawrence “watched the kids” which he did by getting high and playing video games for hours at a time. Since he’s unemployed I assume she paid for his weed, which contributed to the death of one of their children.

The incident occurred on November 19th at their home on the 10000 block of Winding Lakes Road. Lawrence lived there with his girlfriend, their 7-month-old baby and their other child who is 3.
Police say Lawrence, who is unemployed, had stayed up late the night before smoking marijuana and playing X-Box. The mother woke up Lawrence and told him to feed the children. He fed the children and brought them back into the bed with him, Gerity said.
Seven and a half hours went by before he woke up only to discover he had rolled over on the baby and suffocated her.
Police say that’s when he put the baby back in the crib and went to a friend’s house to call 911.
I’m sure if pot was legal this would have never happened.

You’re right. This clearly would have happened even if the guy was sober right? Sober people are always unemployed losers who stay up all night playing video games until they pass out on top of a child who they don’t feel struggling for life under them.

The best you could reasonably argue is that something like this could still happen if the guy never used drugs in the first place. The trouble is that it would be much less likely to happen if the guy never used drugs. In other words, in a drug free world, (by drug free, I mean free of illegal drugs, not drugs that are used only for medical purposes like penicillin) this could still happen, but most likely it would be much rarer. The only way you could prove your point is by showing us some hard statistical data that showed people who didn’t smoke pot, where just as likely to end up doing things like this. Can you show us such data?

Just like it is used by murders, rapists, thugs, cons and lazy teenagers along with responsible everyday people that I have the privilige to live and die with in this world. I find it interesting that the author of this otherwise excellent website writes about marijuana this way. His opinion on, say, attempted gun control in America is, like MOST material on this website, is simialr to my own. The way you write about marijuana in the victomless crime files I could write about most other objects the same way. There is no shortage of stupid people in our world who have used cigaretts, alcohol, automobiles, boats, prescribtion drugs, over-the-counter drugs, exc. in silimar ways. With your intellegence you should know better. You are blaming a plant, a drug, a chemical, a SUBSTANCE for someones behavior.
