Home Secretary on England “It’s Not Safe to Walk the Streets After Dark”

Jacqui Smith suffered a barrage of criticism yesterday after admitting she would not feel safe walking the streets after dark.

Opposition MPs said the Home Secretary had made an “admission of failure” to the millions of shift-workers who have no option but to brave the threat of violence.

Aides of Miss Smith compounded her gaffe with a desperate attempt to undo the damage by claiming she had recently popped out in the evening to “buy a kebab in Peckham”.

In fact, she has round-the-clock police protection.

And the owner of the kebab shop in question told the Daily Mail yesterday that Miss Smith had been accompanied by a burly minder when she dropped in for a £3.90 doner last Wednesday – at teatime not late at night.

The Home Secretary made her admission in an interview at the end of a week when three teenage thugs were convicted of murdering father-of-three Garry Newlove, kicked to death outside his home.

Asked whether she would feel safe walking the streets of Hackney, one of the most deprived parts of London, she replied: “Well, no, but I don’t think I’d have ever have done.”

Asked why she would not feel safe on Hackney’s streets at night, the Home Secretary replied: “Well, I just don’t think that’s a thing that people do, is it, really?”

She was also questioned about how she would feel if she was walking through the affluent area of Kensington and Chelsea after dark.

Miss Smith responded: “Well, I wouldn’t walk around at midnight and I’m fortunate that I don’t have to do that.”

She added that she had walked around in her constituency of Redditch, near Birmingham.

“I don’t get the opportunity to get out on my own now but I certainly have done in the recent past.”

Challenged about her comments yesterday, the Home Secretary said: “You don’t walk in areas you don’t know, in any circumstances.”

And England’s socialist government is dealing with the problem by persecuting bloggers like the much maligned Lionheart who has been the target of an LGF smear campaign since his troubles first began. Most recently someone posed as Lionheart on Jihad Watch and posted comments supportive of neo-Nazi Nick Griffen.

Meanwhile England crumbles and even politicians with armed security are afraid to walk the streets. Way to prioritize LGF and company.

C.I.A. Reveals Cyber Terror Threat

The CIA on Friday admitted that cyberattacks have caused at least one power outage affecting multiple cities outside the United States.

Alan Paller, director of research at the SANS Institute, said that CIA senior analyst Tom Donahue confirmed that online attackers had caused at least one blackout. The disclosure was made at a New Orleans security conference Friday attended by international government officials, engineers, and security managers from North American energy companies and utilities.

Paller said that Donahue presented him with a written statement that read, “We have information, from multiple regions outside the United States, of cyber intrusions into utilities, followed by extortion demands. We suspect, but cannot confirm, that some of these attackers had the benefit of inside knowledge. We have information that cyberattacks have been used to disrupt power equipment in several regions outside the United States. In at least one case, the disruption caused a power outage affecting multiple cities. We do not know who executed these attacks or why, but all involved intrusions through the Internet.”

Information about which foreign cities were affected by the outage and other information related to the attack was not mentioned and is unlikely to be forthcoming, said Paller.

A call to the CIA asking for further comment was not immediately returned.

Donahue said that the CIA had thoroughly weighed the pros and cons of making this information public, according to Paller.

The prospect of cyberattacks crippling multicity regions appears to have prompted the government to make this information public. The issue “went from ‘we should be concerned about to this’ to ‘this is something we should fix now,’ ” said Paller. “That’s why, I think, the government decided to disclose this.”

Hacking was always considered a nuisance crime, it’s only real dangers being the inconvenience of sites and systems being compromised. The occasional stealing of records but you’re far more likely to have your credit card number stolen by a store clerk than some hacker. But the ability to effect infrastructure gives terror organizations like Al-Qaeda a new weapon to destroy western civilization.

Heroic Prison Inmates Save Prison Guard from Rapist

When I read a story like this one it reminds me of the old saying from the Havamal:

RIDGEVILLE, S.C. — Three inmates at a medium-security prison saved a female correctional officer who was being attacked by a convicted sex offender.

Authorities said that just after midnight on Friday, inmate George Salisbury cornered the officer in a dormitory control room at MacDougall Correctional Institution. The officer screamed for help, and three other inmates broke into the room that had been locked and overpowered Salisbury.

The three inmates assisted the officer who was transported to a hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Salisbury was transferred to Lieber Correctional Institution, a maximum security facility in Ridgeville.

Salisbury is serving a 15-year sentence that began in March 2001. He was convicted of criminal sexual conduct with a minor in Berkeley County.

Officials said Salisbury faces criminal charges in the attack on the officer.

I hope the three inmates who helped that officer get some time shaved off their sentences, or if that’s no possible maybe some extra commissary privileges.

Border Patrol Agent Killed in California!

From the few facts being released it sounds as if the agent was purposefully run down by a one of two vehicles that crossed the border illegally from Mexico. From Fox News:

YUMA, Ariz. — A Border Patrol agent trying to stop a vehicle that had illegally entered the U.S. was struck and killed Saturday in southeastern California, agency officials said.

The agent was killed about 20 miles west of Yuma in the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area, a spot along the border that is popular with off-road vehicle enthusiasts and frequently used by smugglers.

The agent attempted to impede the vehicle’s progress before he was hit, but the Border Patrol did not immediately have more information, said agent Eric Anderson, a spokesman for the agency’s Yuma sector.

The name of the agent killed was not immediately released because his family had not been notified.

Witnesses told the Yuma Sun newspaper that agents were chasing a Hummer and a Ford pickup on Interstate 8 when the vehicles turned into the dunes and fled toward Mexico. The agent was trying to place spike strips in their path and was struck by the Hummer, they said.

The Imperial Sand Dunes are the largest dunes in California, extending north of the border for 40 miles and averaging five miles wide.

The fact that the vehicle was a Hummer makes me think this was a drug run, as coupled with the Ford pickup it couldn’t have possibly been carrying enough illegal aliens to make it worth the time of the drivers. Added to that the seeming impunity of killing law enforcement officers and I think it’s a sure bet this was a drug run gone bad.

I guess a fence would have prevented this tragedy, and the agent could be home with his family right now. But don’t tell that to ex-Pandagonian Ilyka Damen, she thinks it would interfere with land grants the Spanish crown made to European immigrants and thus is un-American. It’s not as if the Mexican and American people fought wars to drive Spain out of the Americas or anything.

You know Ilyka, the Spanish crown also granted many of the subjects in “New Spain” the power to own slaves. I reckon that means some of your old money friends can keep buying and selling people without the very un-libertarian 14th Amendment interfering with their “civil liberties.”

Don’t get me wrong, the government should have to pay for land use, and I’m not one to dismiss property rights, but illegal immigration has severe consequences, so rational people should be able to agree to securing the border. An unsecured border, policed by an underfunded and outgunned security force, is an invitation to these sorts of tragedies.

Speaking of Pam Geller, did you know she wasn’t God? But she does make some very wise points about the counter Jihad movement and the dishonest attempt by LGF to discredit everyone in it.

That leads me to Lionheart, who’s still in good spirits and getting plenty of support. For all you lizards drinking the LGF-aid, here’s his explicit position on the British National Party. Does that sound like a neo-Nazi to you?

The Center for Vigilant Freedom is drumming up support for Gerard Batten in his run for mayor of London. He’s a counter Jihad friendly politician who’s not in the BNP. LGF should be happy.

Read some excerpts from an email sent to a Conservative Dutch blog by a Labor Party Councilor. It contains explicit threats and a demand to convert. So much for multiculturalism.
