A Dozen Degenerates Watched 15-Year-Old Get Gang Raped at Homecoming and Did Nothing

California authorities are reporting that they believe up to six men beat, tortured and raped a 15-year-old girl who was leaving her homecoming dance for at least two hours in the parking lot of her high school. They also believe that as many as a dozen witnesses watched the rape and never reported it. There are also rumors that some of those witnesses filmed the crime on their cell phones.

RICHMOND, Calif. — Police believe as many as a dozen people watched a 15-year-old girl get beaten and gang-raped outside her high school homecoming dance without reporting it.

One suspect was in custody Monday, but police said as many as six other men attacked the girl over a two-hour period Friday night outside Richmond High School.

“She was raped, beaten, robbed and dehumanized by several suspects who were obviously OK enough with it to behave that way in each other’s presence,” Lt. Mark Gagan said. “What makes it even more disturbing is the presence of others. People came by, saw what was happening and failed to report it.”

The victim remained hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Manuel Ortega, 19, was arrested at the scene and was being held on $800,000 bail for investigation of rape and robbery. He is not a student at the school.

Police said the girl left the dance and was walking to meet her father for a ride home when a classmate invited her to join a group drinking in the courtyard. The victim had drank a large amount of alcohol by the time the assault began, police said.

Gagan said police have heard rumors that the attack was also taped on cell phones.

“This was something that was happening in a common area with several people around,” he said. “They were very cavalier.”

Gagan said the alleged attack took more than two hours.

Needless to say the rapists and the witnesses all deserve to be executed for their depravity. Manuel Ortega is not a student at the school, so it looks like he and his scum friends were lurking around a high school dance looking for victims. Fugitive.com says that four police officers and several school officials chaperoned the dance itself so any of those witnesses could have gotten help if they wanted.

They didn’t though. They were apparently too busy laughing:

Onlookers laughed, took pictures and even joined in Saturday night during the two-hour gang rape of a semiconscious 15-year-old outside her homecoming dance at Richmond High, police said Monday.

Teams of detectives and school resource officers spent the rest of the weekend trying to track down those responsible.

“The crimes perpetrated against this 15-year-old are both startling and horrific,” police Chief Chris Magnus said Monday. “We are committed to arresting the perpetrators and to preparing the strongest case possible by aggressively pursuing every lead and utilizing the full resources of the department.”

Detectives believe as many as six other men raped the girl as she lay semiconscious on a courtyard bench,also beating her, taking pictures and stealing her jewelry.

Police took at least one student out of Richmond High on Monday afternoon for questioning.

No one called police until word of the ongoing rape spread to a house party in the city’s North and East neighborhood, where an appalled partygoer felt obligated to phone in the rumor.

“That’s just wrong,” senior class President Gina Saechao, who helped organize the dance, said Monday. “What if it was your little sister? What if it was your mom?”

Officers broke it up, and found the victim semiconscious and obviously hurt. Paramedics flew her to a regional trauma center in critical condition; she stabilized overnight.

What’s funnier than watching a teen being beaten and raped to death? Make no mistake, had not that one party goer called the crime in the girl would have died on that courtyard bench. The people who saw the assault watched a girl get beaten and raped into critical condition. The animals attacking her were killing her. But they simply watched and laughed.

What kind of degenerates could do such a thing? Maybe “progressive” blogger Sunny aka Sheree Shastky Marty from Smashed Frog could tell you, since she too supports rapists and other perverts. She even married a rapist named Daniel Eaton. Aside from hurling racist insults at me she has maintained for years, as in this post and comment thread, that we as a society too hard on rapists.

Cases like this make me think we’re not hard enough on them, and on the people who support them.

Victimless Crime File: Was Drug Use a Factor in the Haleigh Cummings Disappearance?

It’s sure starting to look that way now, as Misty Croslin just made the news yet again, this time for getting robbed in a drug deal gone wrong. Via Shadowscope here’s Misty’s 911 call. Listen to the end; it’s pretty clear that she was waiting in the car while her friend bought drugs:

The St. Augustine Record reports the events this way:

The trouble-plagued teenager who was the last known person to see Haleigh Cummings alive was robbed and injured Monday night during a drug deal gone bad, according to the Palatka Police Department.

Misty Croslin, whose seven-month marriage to the missing girl’s father ended Thursday, was named as one of three young women who tried, and failed, to buy drugs at the Ragsdale Apartment Complex, police reported.

Croslin, 17, accompanied by Brandy Steedley, 18, and Melinda Santmyer, 22, went to the apartments on Moody Road in Palatka around 8:15 p.m. Monday, according to the report.

Two or three unidentified black males approached their car and reportedly grabbed Croslin and stole her purse.

She managed to get into the car, and Steedley drove away — leaving Santmyer behind to flee on foot, police said.

Investigating officers reportedly interviewed Santmyer at an apartment in the complex.

“She told officers that they came to the apartment complex attempting to buy drugs,” according to the police department report. “She stated that she got out of the car to look for an unidentified man they gave money to for drugs.

“As she was going back to the vehicle the unidentified suspects came up to them” and stole Croslin’s purse.

Croslin’s attorney, Robert Fields, with the Palatka firm of Dowda & Fields, said he believes his client’s cell phone also was taken.

Fields said he only talked briefly with Croslin on Tuesday afternoon, and she had little information to give him about the incident.

You may recall that Misty, who remains a person of interest in the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings, just had another run in with the law when she and former(?) EquuSearch volunteer Donna Brock were briefly detained in a road rage incident when Brock, who had befriended the teen, was accused by another driver of threatening her with a gun. Brock was informing on Misty the whole time.

Misty’s mother Lisa was a fugitive from justice who was arrested for check fraud, and as pictures of the woman attest to a chronic drug user. At 40 Lisa Croslin looks like a 70-year-old. Misty at one point took out a restraining order on her brother and in general Croslin has publicly showed the world the chaos that drug use causes.

It is likely that chaos was at the root of Haleigh Cummings’ disappearance. Misty Croslin basically claims she slept through someone abducting the child. Most people simply don’t believe her but frankly when you look at her behavior it’s very possible she slept through an abduction. Marijuana smokers have been known to sleep heavily. In one case that I blogged about a woman high on marijuana accidentally crushed her baby to death while sleeping with the infant. Oxycontin abusers often sleep heavily, and I’ve witnessed heroin users fall asleep mid sentence and have no idea what was going on around them.

Misty’s drug use also, as her most recent misadventure indicates, puts her into contact with dangerous people. If Haleigh was abducted it was likely by someone Misty knows, a dealer or user she let in her house and was there while she passed out.

Even while being suspected by police (and the world) of being involved in the disappearance of a child Misty Croslin cannot keep herself clean. Her addictions, whatever they are, are out of control and it would be prudent for police and investigators to focus their attention on the drug culture she was involved in if they want to find out what happened to Haleigh Cummings.

Felon on Parole Gunned Down Adopted Sister He Was Raping and He Might Get Away With It!

The police are angry at the prosecutors’ decision, who to be fair have a hard case in front of them, but clearly Royce Mitchell should be standing trial for statutory rape, kidnapping and murder but the prosecutors are bowing to pressure put on them by the community. As an aside, read through the comments on any story about this case, then tell the commenters I said thanks for making us look good. They’ll know what it means.

Royce Mitchell was pressuring 15-year-old Tiffany Wright to end her late-term pregnancy – even taking her to an abortion clinic – according to new court documents that may shed light on why police say Mitchell should be prosecuted for statutory rape.

The documents, released Tuesday, say Mitchell took Tiffany – his adopted sister – to a Charlotte abortion clinic in July, but she was turned away because she was too far along at 21 weeks. So Mitchell planned a trip to an Atlanta clinic within days where Tiffany’s pregnancy could be terminated.

Tiffany was eight-months pregnant when she was gunned down on Sept. 14 as she waited for her school bus. Doctors delivered her baby girl, but the infant later died.

Police call Mitchell, 36, a “person of interest” in the homicide, but they haven’t charged him. Mitchell was jailed on charges of statutory rape and taking indecent liberties with a minor.

But those charges were dropped last week by prosecutors, after a DNA test showed Mitchell was not the father of the baby. Without Tiffany alive to testify about any sexual encounters, prosecutors said the case lacked enough evidence to prosecute.

The move angered police, who released a statement critical of the decision. The statement said police believe there is “probable cause” based on “evidence gathered” to prosecute Mitchell on the sex charges – even without DNA evidence to prove that they had sex at least once.

The new information today comes from two affidavits asking a judge for search warrants of Mitchell’s home and an apartment.

The affidavits say Tiffany’s foster parents reported that Mitchell picked Tiffany up on July 20 about 10:30 p.m. “to take her to visit a dying relative.” Tiffany later reported she was really being held against her will by Mitchell and an unknown female “as they attempted to convince Tiffany to engage in an abortion by non-medical personnel,” the affidavits say.

A tough sell in Charlotte given the support we Black folk like to throw around for any “brother” who deserves to be in jail, but that doesn’t mean prosecutors shouldn’t make the effort in honor of the victim. But the prosecution can’t be faulted for thinking that, given public support for this child raping animal, hitting him for parole violations while seeing if they can work up something else is the best strategy for a win.

It is disgusting that they maybe right, and high time Black folk start taking back their community from the dealers and pimps who have become elevated to hero status in the inner cities.

Who’s Teaching Your Children? Carla Hughes Shoots and Stabs Pregnant Woman to Death

(CNN) — A Mississippi schoolteacher was sentenced to life without parole Wednesday for shooting and stabbing to death her lover’s pregnant fiancee in 2006.

The same jury that convicted Carla Hughes of two counts of murder Tuesday for the death of Avis Banks spared her life, declining to impose the death penalty.

Mississippi is among the states that consider murdering a pregnant woman to be taking two lives.

Madison County District Attorney Michael Guest asked the panel of nine women and three men to sentence Hughes to death based on the gruesome nature of Banks’ murder.

Banks, 27, was found lying in a pool of blood on November 29, 2006, in the garage of the Ridgeland home she shared with Keyon Pittman, the father of her unborn child. She was five months pregnant.

She had been shot four times in the leg, chest and head, and then stabbed multiple times in the face and neck as she lay dying, according to medical testimony.

 Hughes’ pastor and friends also took the stand to describe her work mentoring youths, volunteering at church and at the school where she met the victim’s husband.

Suspicion initially fell on Pittman, who admitted to having an affair with Hughes, a language arts teacher. A key prosecution witness, Pittman told the jury he began seeing Hughes one month after finding out his girlfriend was pregnant. He testified that the two met frequently in Hughes’ home and even went out of town together, but he insisted the relationship was based solely on sex.

Yeah she sounds like a great person. How many Carla Hughes are out there even now, teaching your children while holding only the most tenuous grasp on sanity. Who do we let into the lives of our children? We never really know until it’s too late.

Boys Laughed After Setting Teen on Fire

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. — A teenage squabble over a video game and a bicycle blossomed into revenge during a chance encounter and ended in the near-fatal torching of a 15-year-old Deerfield Beach boy

Some of the teens charged in the blaze laughed when investigators confronted them about the attack, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

Four 15-year-old boys and one’s 13-year-old brother accosted Michael Brewer and condemned him as a snitch for calling the cops on their leader, whom the Sheriff’s Office identified as the local bully.

Brewer tried to leave. They doused him with alcohol and set him afire.

Flames burned 80 percent of his body, especially his torso and arms, and seared off much of his hair, including his eyebrows, family members said.

Matthew Bent, 15, told his accomplices to “pour it on him,” investigators said, based on their interviews with the suspects.

Brewer tore off his shirt and jumped in an apartment complex pool.

He later was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s burn center, where he is listed in critical condition with mostly second-degree burns.

“This is just an incredibly cruel thing, that anybody could have possibly done this to another human being” said Dr. Nicholas Namias, director of the University of Miami-Jackson Memorial Burn Center.

Sheriff Al Lamberti called it “a case of retaliation.”

According to Broward Sheriff’s Sgt. Steve Feeley, the feud started when Brewer borrowed $40 from Bent to buy a video game.

He never paid him back. In return Bent tried to steal a custom, $500 bike belonging to Brewer’s father Sunday night. Brewer called police, and Bent was arrested as he tried to run off with the bike.

Attempted murder over $40. And when police arrested the teens they laughed. We need to change how we’re raising our children.
