Portugal Trading in Default Territory as Europe Plunges into Financial Chaos

This looks bad for Europe – which is temporarily good for America. Portugal’s troubles comes on the heels of news that Fitch expects Greece to default on it’s debts though in an “orderly” manner which will hit our banks hard. We also got some financial sabre rattling from German where an influential parliament member claimed that America was waging a war against the Euro through the ratings agencies.

Money from Europe is flooding into our markets, but this bounce will not last once Europe starts to collapse and our banks start shutting down. From the Financial Times:

Portugal is trading in default territory after investors offloaded the country’s bonds this week amid rising fears of contagion, hurting a government debt auction on Wednesday. Worries are mounting that the private sector and Greece will fail to agree a restructuring package for Athens’ debt.

Portuguese 10-year bond yields, which have an inverse relationship with prices, jumped to a new euro-era high of 14.40 per cent in London on Wednesday. Before the S&P two-notch downgrade late on Friday, yields were trading at 12.45 per cent.

Portugal on Wednesday sold €1.25bn of 11-month bills, €754m of six-month notes and €496m of three-month notes, lower than the €2bn to €2.5bn targeted by the government debt agency.

Portugal does not have a bond maturing until June, when €10bn is due for repayment. Its borrowing needs are also modest at €17.5bn. However, investors worry about Portugal’s painfully slow growth, which could impact on its ability to service its debts.

Many investors were forced to sell Portuguese bonds after Standard & Poor’s downgraded the country to junk on Friday. Other funds sold Portuguese debt after Lisbon was removed from Citigroup’s European Bond Index, which these investors track, because of its fall to junk status.

All three main credit rating agencies, S&P, Moody’s, and Fitch, rate Portugal as junk, below investment grade.

Meaning they’ll need a bailout and what a surprise the IMF is looking for another $600 Billion dollars.

Surprise! U.N. “Peacekeeper” Barbarians Spread Superbug into the Americas

Before Red Alerts was closed down temporarily I blogged about the U.N. Peacekeepers from Nepal who spread cholera in Haiti by shitting in the Haitians drinking water. This by the way was not done maliciously, the peacekeepers the U.N. sent to earthquake ravaged Haiti were just barbarians who didn’t know any better.

Now a new report is claiming that this isn’t just any normal cholera  – it’s a superbug that is more virulent, more easily transmittable and has infected half a million Haitians. Infected Haitians have been turning up all over the Americas including New York, Miami and Boston:

Compelling new scientific evidence suggests United Nations peacekeepers have carried a virulent strain of cholera — a super bug — into the Western Hemisphere for the first time.

The vicious form of cholera has already killed 7,000 people in Haiti, where it surfaced in a remote village in October 2010. Leading researchers from Harvard Medical School and elsewhere told ABC News that, despite UN denials, there is now a mountain of evidence suggesting the strain originated in Nepal, and was carried to Haiti by Nepalese soldiers who came to Haiti to serve as UN peacekeepers after the earthquake that ravaged the country on Jan. 12, 2010 — two years ago today. Haiti had never seen a case of cholera until the arrival of the peacekeepers, who allegedly failed to maintain sanitary conditions at their base.

“What scares me is that the strain from South Asia has been recognized as more virulent, more capable of causing severe disease, and more transmissible,” said John Mekalanos, who chairs the Department of Microbiology and Immunobiology at Harvard Medical School. “These strains are nasty. So far there has been no secondary outbreak. But Haiti now represents a foothold for a particularly dangerous variety of this deadly disease.”

More than 500,000 Haitians have been infected, and Mekalanos said a handful of victims who contracted cholera in Haiti have now turned up in Venezuela, the Dominican Republic, and in Boston, Miami and New York, but only in isolated cases.

The United Nations is of course denying any role in the spread of this deadly outbreak even as the evidence piles up. When disaster strikes you can always count on the United Nations to make things worse.

Mass Invasion of Israel Being Organized Via Facebook Today

Hey, world war starting in the middle east with a second holocaust could never affect America, right? I mean unless you count the destruction of Jesus’ tomb by Muslims and the subsequent bloody crusades by Christians, Muslims stopping oil shipments to the Great Satan once the Little Satan is gone and of course the inevitable demand by the newly formed Caliphate that America turn over all American Jews and pay the annual Jizya to the Islamic world. But hey, other than that there’s no reason for us to care about this, right Paulnuts?

The Third Intifada is coordinated via several social networks and as NewsReal Blog points out they are organizing a huge push into Israel for after Friday prayers today. The hope is that they can get several thousands “Palestinians” (many of whom will be Muslim Brotherhood agents an non-Muslim Marxists) to surge into Israeli territory forcing a response from the IDF, which will then draw Hamas, Fatah, the Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda into the fray. If these organizers are successful (and they have been in Egypt and Tunisia) then we will be watching the beginning of an Arab-Israeli war that will likely lead to the extermination of the Jews in Israel and the destruction of the Christians most holy sites. Think there won’t be “blowback” from that?

At the very least we will see more spikes in oil if the Intifada organizers are even marginally successful. Fill your tanks now and putting a little extra in a gas can is not a bad idea.

If you are Jewish or have Jewish friends be on alert. The IDF’s provoked response will be used to justify anti-Semitic attacks here. Palestinian sympathizers of all stripes will be more likely to commit acts of violence against Jews and Americans after tomorrow so be careful. In the southwest this includes Reconquista groups.

I am not a Christian or a Jew but I am praying for Israel today, and praying the Intifada fails for all our sakes. But I’ll also be at Costco today adding to my larder. Toilet paper and bottled water are things you can’t have too much of.

Iran Building Missle Bases in Venezula!

Iran’s push to bring about the return of the Mahdi through global conflagration is getting a hand from Castroite dictator Hugo Chavez, whose allowing Iranian Missile bases to be built in Venezuela. At the very least this may start a war in Latin America as Columbia, abandoned by the current American administration, feels the pressure to take some sort of action on this new threat. At worst Chavez goes nuclear, literally, as his socialist policies create more shortages in his country. He’ll need a war soon to mobilize his country and the arrogant statements in some quarters that he wouldn’t dare start one with America is ignoring how weak America seems on the world stage now.

BERLIN – The Iranian government is moving forward with the construction of rocket launch bases in Venezuela, the German daily Die Welt wrote in its Thursday edition.

Iran is building intermediate- range missile launch pads on the Paraguaná Peninsula, and engineers from a construction firm – Khatam al-Anbia – owned by the Revolutionary Guards visited Paraguaná in February. Amir al-Hadschisadeh, the head of the Guard’s Air Force, participated in the visit, according to the report. Die Welt cited information from “Western security insiders.”

The rocket bases are to include measures to prevent air attacks on Venezuela as well as commando and control stations.

The Iranian military involvement in the project extends to bunker, barracks and watch tower construction. Twenty-meter deep rocket silos are planned. The cost of the Venezuelan military project is being paid for with Iranian oil revenue. The Iranians paid in cash for the preliminary phase of the project and, the total cost is expected to amount to “dozens of millions” of dollars, Die Welt wrote.

The Paraguaná Peninsula is on the coast of Venezuela and is roughly 120 kilometers from America’s main South American partner, Columbia.

According to Die Welt, the clandestine agreement between Venezuela and Iran would mean the Chavez government would fire rocket at Iran’s enemies should the Islamic Republic face military strikes.

This is meant to put pressure on Israel as much as us, in essence trying to blackmail America into reigning in the Jewish state who are already blaming Iran for the third intifada. This has all the makings for another world war to break out, only this time we have no allies we can count on, and roughly 1/3 of Americans are actively siding with our enemies.

Third Intifada Starting

Best case scenario is there’s more bloodshed in the oil producing nations driving up oil. Worst case: WW III kicks off after a second holocaust when the victorious Muslim Brotherhood follows their stated game plan and demands the West turn over our Jews to them. In that scenario I predict a civil war here when the Left and Paulnuts try to comply and round up Jews.
