Via Police One this video is of Detroit Police Sgt. Harold Rochon giving a presentation designed for law enforcement officers to get a comprehensive overview of the MS-13 gang. This video includes discussion of identifiers, what crimes MS-13 usually partakes in and even delves briefly into their terrorist connections. As civil unrest increases it behooves you to learn about gangs who in some areas will be shadow governments where American power is easily challenged (Oakland, Chicago, Arizona) or police forces have been thinned out.
Some of the information is very basic, but this is a video presentation you should sit down and watch. An interesting side note is that a former member claims more than once that MS-13 is a Satanic gang, which is something I heard before but never saw much evidence for:
California Sliding into Lawlessness
Oakland just had “race riots” where what can clearly be identified as college aged communists and Black Bloc cells were terrorizing entire neighborhoods. Meanwhile the city continues to be run by people who simply can’t comprehend the situation they are in:
Oakland’s police force will keep shrinking, with voters having rejected two out of three revenue-raising measures on the ballot this week, City Administrator Dan Lindheim said Thursday.
The force now has 673 officers, but Lindheim said the city’s 2010-11 budget and money the city will receive under Measure BB – the initiative that voters did approve Tuesday – provide enough for just 637 officers through June.
Oakland laid off 80 officers in July to help balance its budget, but the additional reductions will come through attrition, Lindheim said.
“We probably won’t have to do additional layoffs,” the city administrator said at a news conference with City Council President Jane Brunner.
Former state Sen. Don Perata, who has a significant lead in the mayor’s race with ranked-choice votes yet to be distributed, has vowed to rehire the 80 laid-off officers if he is elected.
But Brunner, who endorsed Perata, questioned whether the city will have the money to do that.
“Somebody is going to have to be very creative,” Brunner said.
Although they approved Measure BB, enabling the city to keep collecting revenue from a $90-a-year parcel tax that pays for police services, voters rejected two additional revenue-raising measures Tuesday. One, Measure X, would have imposed a $360-a-year parcel tax to provide more money to police, and the other would have taxed telephone lines.
The passage of Measure BB gives the city $20 million a year. But the terms of the original 2004 parcel tax mean the Police Department will have to pull 57 officers and six sergeants from various units and assign them to community policing positions known as problem-solving officers.
Officers will be removed from specialized units to fill those spots, including investigations, traffic and street-level narcotics teams, said Officer Jeff Thomason, a department spokesman.
There’s so much wrong in the above report I don’t know where to begin. The idea that people making six figure salaries are arguing about how to raise money for police in a town as dangerous as Oakland is incredible, that the only thing they can think of to pay for cops is tax the poor residents of Oakland is criminal.
Pensions, benefits, salaries for civil servants – these are the things that need to be cut. And yeah, during a financial crisis you may have to move some narcs to regular patrols but those new patrols can still help keep a lid on crime if the leaders keep morale up by taking the hits themselves. Instead the “leaders” of Oakland (and California) are eating caviar while giving out bonuses to special interest groups as police service is whittled to the bone.
And Oakland is just part of California’s problems. There liberal attitudes toward crime and punishment has created a problem they have no resources to deal with. A new report released by the California Department of Corrections (.pdf) claims felons released from their prison system have a 75% recidivism rate and of those most are arrested within three years of release. The report says sex offenders have a lower recidivism rate then other felons – at “only” 67% after three years!
California has bred not just financially irresponsible politicians but armies of morally bankrupt lowlifes who think nothing of doing time when caught. This is a recipe for disaster. Leave California, now.

Cartels Disrupting Mexican Government Services
So much for the whole “drug war” narrative, the Cartel warlord’s insurgency is about more than selling pot. They literally control whether or not Mexico can send civil servants in areas. Will legalizing pot make them give up this kind of power?
With killings and disappearances to assert their authority, Mexico’s drug cartels are beginning to interfere with everyday government activities in pockets of the country, keeping workers off their turf and interrupting some of the most basic services.
Not only do they maintain checkpoints and kill police or mayors to control territory, they now try to keep everyone from midlevel officials to delivery truck drivers and meter readers out of rural areas they use to transport drugs, stash weapons and kidnap victims, and hide from authorities. In the process, they are blocking deliveries of gasoline, pension checks, farm aid and other services to Mexicans.
Cartels also rob or extort people receiving government checks, as organized crime branches out from drug running into other illegal businesses.
These interruptions have even affected the U.S., as agricultural inspections at the border have slowed. The recent search for the body of a missing American tourist on a border lake was suspended under threats of drug-cartel violence and the assassination of the police commander in charge of the search.
“Everything’s stopped,” said Maria Luz Hopkins, a 69-year-old retiree in Tubutama, south of the Arizona border city of Nogales. “There’s no construction. Nobody is working the fields because they don’t have gasoline or diesel. The people that used to bring gasoline, they don’t come. How can people work?”
Hopkins complained to officials in the Sonora state capitol, Hermosillo, when the government stopped delivering pension checks. She said they came last month in a convoy of about 20 heavily armed trucks after missing a bimonthly payment over the summer.
That the cartel can effect America without coming in our territory should worry everyone. This is the new reality, non-state warlords can challenge two different countries with impunity
Anwar al-Awlaki Declares Open Season on Americans – What You Can Do
Our friends in the Religion of Peace are looking to bag their limits of Kafir this season so be careful out there. al-Awlaki is one of the most influential Jihadist clerics today so don’t be surprised when some new “isolated incidents” happen in the coming weeks.

Anwar al-Awlaki said Americans are from the “party of devils” and so don’t require any special religious permission to kill.
In the 23-minute Arabic language message entitled “Make it known and clear to mankind,” al-Awlaki said it was “either them or us”. He also called all Arab and Yemeni leaders “corrupt” and said it was time for religious scholars to take charge.
“Kings, emirs, and presidents are not now qualified to lead the nation, or even a flock of sheep,” he said. “If the leaders are corrupt, the scholars have the responsibility to lead the nation.”
The video showed him wearing traditional Yemeni clothes with a dagger at his belt sitting behind a desk.
U.S. investigators say al-Awlaki’s sermons have been a key inspiration for a string of militants, including possibly the Pakistani man who tried to detonate a car bomb in Times Square this year.
He also had email contacts with the Army psychiatrist accused of shooting 13 people in Fort Hood, Texas.
They say that since he returned to Yemen in 2006, al-Awlaki has moved beyond inspiration to take a role as an active operative in al-Qaeda’s affiliate there.
On Friday, the al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula claimed responsibility for sending bombs through the mail in packages addressed to the U.S. which was thwarted a week ago.
For those of you who, like me, won’t be wearing full tactical armor while going about your daily business you may want to invest in some soft slash and cut resistant clothing that can be hidden under your regular wear or can blend in as outer wear.

Some come with armor inserts for additional protection from impacts and beatings. If physical assaults by crowds are a concern (and if you live near a radicalized Mosque or college campus they are a concern) the old stand by of “decorating” your outer wear with screws or nails is not only a homage to 70s punk but an effective deterrent to grabs and other MMA style take downs which are popular with young people
A company called Draggin’ Jeans makes kevlar undershirts and pants as well as kevlar lined denim jackets that are designed to protect riders from “road rash” but will offer an additional light layer of protection from slashes and burns.
Wear your states allow it you may be able to get “bullet proof” vests for very reasonable prices – but will you wear it every day? And most concealable vests leave much you your body exposed. Your best bet with firearms is to be aware and know what to look for when a guy is pulling a gun so you can take cover. Learn to read the body language of people and in a more esoteric sense you must learn to read the intentions of every person you meet.
Avoid crowds on Fridays which is when much Muslim mob violence happens (after Friday prayers) and avoid protests, marches or congregating in places where you’re an easy target, like outdoor cafes. Be aware of people casing places you go, and understand that not all Muslims are Arabs and many Anarchists or other radicals will work with Muslims when given the chance. The Aryan Nations works with Jihadists, and Tim McVeigh’s partner was known to pal around with Jihadists from the Philippines.
The lone wolf terrorist is dangerous, but do not underestimate how insidious Jihadism is in the American Muslim community. Gang assaults and mob beatings are common in Europe and will become common here as the Muslim population becomes more radicalized. Muslim sex slave rings of the type we find in Islamized Britain are already being uncovered here, and that means European style “no-go” zones are only a few police lay-offs away.
