Ron Paul Losing Support in his District

From The Galveston County Daily News:

Friendswood City Councilman Chris Peden is another potential challenger for Paul.

Peden announced last month he formed an exploratory committee for the seat.

Since then, he said he’s been hitting the campaign trail, visiting meetings across the district and going up to the Capitol last week.

“I’ve been working hard,” he said. “Ron Paul is just making my work easier for me.”

Peden said he formed the exploratory committee because he didn’t think Paul’s values matched those of Republican voters.

“This latest thing is just another example,” he said. “I’ve been all over this district. I’ve spoken to over 200 people who are strong Republican primary voters. Not one of those people shares his point of view on the war on Iraq.”

Read the full article, his supporters are in full spin mode which has Eric Dondero feeling frisky enough to write this challenge to the Ron Paul world view sure to get him more hate mail than he can handle. Ultimately however Paul supporters will have to deal with this question sans name calling: If Radical Muslim violence is just blowback from American foreign policy, why the attacks in France? Why Sudan? Why is the Dali Lama a target?

I suppose it’s all “blowback” from Buddhist imperialism and southern Sudanese military intervention into the middle east

VDH on Europe Embracing America

Victor Davis Hanson has an excellent article explaining why the old world hates us, needs us and are now ready to embrace us:

So it is they, not us, that are returning to sobriety in matters of the trans-Atlantic relationship, and they are doing this not because of affection for George Bush, but despite their anxiety about him. And that is good news, since it suggests the warming exists apart from personalities, and reminds us that if the so-called and much deprecated “West” were ever to act in unison (the former British commonwealth, Japan, the US, and continental Europe), then radical Islam would simply have no chance against 8-900 million of the planet’s most productive, ingenious and democratic peoples.

At some point, European statesmen are going to bump into a great truth: that they spend almost nothing on defense, but intrinsically have access to the United States military, both by shared values, or at least the memory of shared values, and the allegiance of the American people to this now ridiculed, now archaic notion known as the “West.” All they have do is to occasionally show some warmth to the United States, and we crazy American people whether in World War I, II, the Cold War, or the war on terror, give our all to them—at no cost. We sense that Merkle and Sarkozy and the majorities that elected them, finally fear that they were reaching the point of American exasperation at which the old ties were broken for good, adn Europe was truly to be on its own, and thus pulled back—in time?

The Supporters Ron Paul Doesn’t Want You to See

The “grassroots” can be a scary place, especially when by grassroots you’re referring to the radical left-libertarian fringe of anti-American, anti-government rabble that make up the various “patriot” movements. Often racist, always paranoid and living in a Internet-based fantasy world that seems less like a political ideology and more like an online role playing game, this dangerous collection of conspiracy theorists, abductees and neo-Nazis are the foot troops marching in support of the political campaign’s wild eyed “revolutionaries” like supposed Republican Ron Paul.

It is in these left-libertarian political groups and web sites, what Michelle Malkin rightly refers to as Libertarian fever swamps, where otherwise “liberal” Americans meet and mingle with anti-American White Nationalist groups and forge alliances that should shock any real Libertarian. For that reason Ron Paul’s campaign has tried to keep media attention away from some of his more unseemly associations and supporters, and his current 9-11 firestorm has distracted many from investigating his neo-Nazi roots, but not every one luckily. One DailyKos diarist has unearthed some of Paul’s outrageous racist ramblings which should change any reasonable Republican’s mind about supporting Paul.

There are many who will embrace his racist bile. Here’s a list of White Supremacist/racist sites I’ve found actively shilling for “the taxpayer’s best friend”:

WhiteCivilRights.com is a site run by traitor and Irish hater David Duke.

Frank Weltner of Jew Watch has one of his YouTube video diaries dedicated to celebrating Paul’s victory over “Zionist agent” Rudy at the Republican debate:

Vanguard News Network has a link to Prison Planet video of Paul. Certainly not the first or last time White Supremacists will link to Alex Jones (or Ron Paul).

“Paleo-Conservative” Pat Buchanan has an essay supporting Paul’s contention that we brought 9-11 on ourselves. Interestingly Buchanan’s essay is cross posted on David Duke’s site, a man he vigorously defended from Republican criticism in the past. Birds of a feather I guess.

The Civic Platform loves Ron Paul. I wasn’t going to include them, but after I recently referred to them in another post a little bird told me they’ve been running around the forums claiming I’d have no content without “attacking” them. Sorry boys, but this will only be the fifth post about you out of a total of 471 posts. I’m glad to start paying more attention to you if you want.

You get the idea, a vote for Paul is a vote for crypto-fascism, “Libertarian Socialism” and White Nationalism. Paul’s supporters are a looking glass view of the kind of world Paul wants to create, where racist ideologies and rank anti-Semitism are given respectability. Paul isn’t a Republican or a Libertarian; he’s a Fascist using anti-government rhetoric to build his brave new world.

Female Tourists Targets for Gang Rapes in France

GalliaWatch reports on how dangerous it is to be a tourist in certain parts of France:

During the night of May 12 – May 13 a young female Dutch student, barely 18 years old, was the victim of a gang rape in the middle of downtown Angers. She was raped by a gang of young men she had approached on the Verdun bridge to ask directions.

Molotov Cocktail attacks on passing cars and random violence also plague Angers. Read the entire article if you’re thinking of traveling in Europe.
