Fred Kaplan’s Hit Piece Explained

Old Freddy K. wrote a piece for WaPO that complains that Rice’s new world view isn’t in keeping with the thirty year wet dream of thug huggery bringing peace to a world where Europe, Canada and the U.N. hide behind our skirts. This doesn’t sit well with Kaplan, who I assume thinks the thirty years leading up to 9/11 went swimmingly.

One month into Bush’s second term, she canceled a trip to Egypt to protest President Hosni Mubarak’s arrest of Ayman Nour, the leader of an opposition party. She rescheduled the trip for June, after Nour was released, and delivered a rousing speech at the American University in Cairo, demanding that Mubarak give his people liberty. “For 60 years,” she said, “my country, the United States, pursued stability at the expense of democracy in this region . . . and we achieved neither. Now we are taking a different course. We are supporting the democratic aspirations of all people.” A “fully free and democratic world,” she declared, is “inevitable.”

Rice had spun 180 degrees from the positions she’d held for the previous 30 years.

In the mid-1970s, as a graduate student at the University of Denver, she’d been the star pupil of Josef Korbel (the father of former secretary of state Madeleine Albright). A Czech ¿migr¿, Korbel had witnessed the collapse of the world order between the 20th century’s two great wars and concluded that keeping the peace required not laws or ideals but a stable balance of power.

In the late ’80s, Brent Scowcroft, President George H.W. Bush’s national security adviser, hired Rice onto his staff. A prot¿g¿ of Henry Kissinger, the ultimate realist, Scowcroft scorned the idea that morality should dominate foreign policy. While advising Bush’s son during his 2000 presidential campaign, Rice remained firmly in this mold. In an article for Foreign Affairs magazine, she called “power politics” and “power balances” the key elements of national security.

Yet just five years later, she wrote in a Washington Post op-ed, “the fundamental character of regimes matters more today than the international distribution of power.” And: “Democracy is the only assurance of lasting peace and security between states, because it is the only guarantee of freedom and justice within states.”

If only we propped up more bloodthirsty Baathis/Nazi/Islamist dictators we would be safer. Oh wait, isn’t that one of Bin Ladin’s complaints about us? And didn’t the very policy he loves so much lead to 9/11? What’s this guy’s problem?

The Great Satan’s Girlfriend, who I think is more like America’s little sister, has the simple answer: Jealousy.

“Jealousy – you such an evil thang” are lyrics breathed rather than sung (ala Jessica Simpson) on a track on Paris Hilton’s CD. It also provides a wickedly clever sound track to the current, weirdly comical death throes of the know it all club of Realism.

“Realpolitik” is a hold over from an old school era. Instantly Americanized by The Great Satan into ‘Realism’, America didn’t care how unfree, how uncool, how total despotism was in nations – as long as they kept out the Commies and Mohammedist fundies they could treat their own people as they wished. Protection guaranteed. Good times.

Ah, the avatar realists – hallowed names in American statecraft like Baker, Scowcroft, Talbot and Kissinger. Alas many of their ilk cannot come to terms with fact that 911 incinerated their ideas and policies just as surely as the nearly 3K innocents who showed up for work that day.

Dr.Fred Kaplan’s bizarro “Condi is a Retard’ 2 page rant in the Washington Post. Cats who spent their entire adult lives explaining, expounding and exploiting their amoral Cult of Stability are NOT going down without a fight.

Long after her celebrity and charm have been forgotten, her epitaph will endure:
She pursued democracy at the expense of stability, and achieved neither.

“Jealousy such a wicked thang” blinds one to their own failures. Like pursuing stability. In the real world (no pun intended) this thug hugging theory brought no stability, no peace and no democracy. Kaplan and Co have left a mess that has spawned instability, terrorism, oil embargoes, genocide and several wars. The Great Satan has had to take out the trash for a world that bought all their outdated ideas.

Read the rest, it’s the best concise explanation of the increasingly hysterical foreign policy critics and their savage attacks on Dr. Rice I’ve read. And of course the genius of it is using America’s favorite punching bag as a jumping off point. Why’s that genius? Because the same ideology driving the “peace at any price” school of thought is also responsible for the new class war platform so popular on the left. Hilton, who frankly hasn’t done anything Al Gore’s son hasn’t been pinched for, is a target because she represents an important part of the American dream the left hates.

Paris Hilton is rich because her parents can give her money, they can allow her not to work. That’s the benefit of success here in America, the ability to take care of people you care about. I assume Kaplan and his ilk hate her too, for the same reason he’s on Dr. Rice’s case. Jealousy.

Jew Hating Commie Shot Neighbor’s Cat With Shotgun … Didn’t Mean to Kill It?

Jimmy Carter’s seemingly poor judgment always seemed a little sinister to me. I though his bumbling peanut farmer act was a cover used by a Jew Hating Nazi supporter with dreams of starting some sort of sci-fi inspired global ruling class. This letter from the uncovered by the Emptyage blog seems to suggest otherwise. It’s a note Carter left for his sister-in-law Sybil explain why her cat is missing:

To Sybil,

Lamentably, I killed your cat while trying just to sting it. It was crouched, as usual, under one of our bird feeders & I fired from some distance with bird shot. It may ease your grief somewhat to know that the cat was buried properly with a prayer & that I’ll be glad to get you another of your choice.

I called & came by your house several times. We will be in the Dominican Republic until Thursday. I’ll see you then.

Lamentably, Jimmy Carter seemed to think blasting a cat with shotgun full of bird shot would sting it, not send a couple of ounces of tiny metal lumps screaming into one side of the poor animal and blasting a hole outside the other. That’s pretty much how bird shot works.

Either Carter is senile (and note that this note is dated 1990) or he’s a psychopath who killed his his own families pet because it “lurked” by the bird feeder. Or was baited there by a man who put a bird feeder somewhere where he knew a cat would be!

If Carter was a teenager he’d already be labeled a potential serial killer for doing something so callous and outrageous as shooting-is-sister in law’s cat with a shotgun, burying it and running off on vacation after leaving a note. Given his record I wouldn’t say that was far off the mark, he did go on to install the Iranian regime which murders hundreds of dissidents a year, not to mention Zoroastrians, Christians and oh yeah U.S. troops serving in Iraq.

Unless he was senile then, there’s no way he thought shooting that cat with a shotgun, even if it was a .410, would “sting” it. I have two shotguns, one’s a .410 the other a 20ga, and I load #4 and sometimes #6 (both bird shot) for home defense, because at close ranges it’s still effective but doesn’t endanger the neighbors with over penetration.

But bird shot is designed to kill small animals (birds) by enveloping them in a hypervelocity cloud of lead. A cat is a small animal. So you tell me what this evil S.O.B. was thinking.

As a life long cat lover I can only hope that Bastet punishes Carter with a thousand tiny claws in the afterlife while he’s on his way to Hell. As a Republican, I just hope that this story puts some much needed “nuance” as the left says, on the anti-American, anti-Israeli positions espoused by Carter, and his love for bloodthirsty dictatorships.

L.I. Slaveowners House of Horrors Revealed!

The depths of the depravity of the wealthy Long Island couple who were arrested earlier this year when it was discovered that the pair were keeping slaves in their posh Central Islip home were revealed in a recent court appearance. From Fox News:

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. — A servant who worked for a millionaire couple charged with modern-day slavery testified Monday in excruciating detail about the punishment she says she endured for minor transgressions such as sleeping late.

Samirah, an immigrant from Indonesia, said she was forced to walk naked from the servants’ room to the kitchen and to eat 100 chili peppers, followed by six spoons of chili powder mixed with salt water. She said she vomited after eating the peppers and was told to eat the vomit.

The testimony came at the trial of Varsha Mahender Sabhnani and her husband, Mahender Murlidhar Sabhnani, who run a worldwide perfume business out of their home on the north shore of Long Island.

Prosecutors say the couple severely abused Samirah and another Indonesian woman, Enung, who were brought to the United States to work as housekeepers, then held against their will and repeatedly beaten and starved.

Samirah testified that the alleged abuse she suffered was for such misdeeds as sleeping late and eating from the trash “because I wasn’t given food.”

“I said, `Mrs., just send me home to Indonesia,”‘ Samirah said.

Defense attorneys contend the housekeepers engaged in witchcraft and may have abused themselves as part of an Indonesian self-mutilation ritual — an assertion Samirah denied.

Samirah previously introduced the subject of black magic into the trial when she claimed that Varsha Sabhnani had concocted a spell that led to the death of one of Samirah’s sons in Indonesia.

On Monday, Samirah stood up, looking agitated and waving her hands, as she demonstrated how she was stabbed. She also got down on her knees in front of jurors to show how she scrubbed floors three times every day.

In exchange for the work, the prosecution says $100 a month was sent to a relative in Indonesia. Samirah said she never received any money of her own.

The case broke last May when concerned employees at a Dunkin’ Donuts called police after Samirah, 51, wandered into their store, muttering and looking injured.

Before the day was over, she was being treated in a hospital and authorities had a warrant to search the Sabhnani home, where they found Enung hiding in a basement closet.

If convicted, the couple could face 40 years in prison.

Though the religion of the couple has never been officially confirmed, the case is similar to reported incidents of involuntary servitude and abuse of domestics in Muslim societies.

Islam and slavery are inextricable linked, and this case has all the hallmarks of modern Islamism. The defense claims of witchcraft being practiced by the victims (as if that would excuse the barbarity) is also a feature in modern Islamist slave cases, and persecution of maids and domestics for “sorcery” have become common in places like Saudi Arabia. From the State Departments 2002 report on International Religious Freedom:

Magic is widely believed in and sometimes practiced, often in the form of fortune-telling and swindles; however, under Shari’a, the practice of magic is regarded as the worst form of polytheism, an offense for which no repentance is accepted and which is punishable by death. There are an unknown number of detainees held in prison on the charge of “sorcery,” including the practice of “black magic” or “witchcraft.” In a few cases, self-proclaimed “miracle workers” have been executed for sorcery involving physical harm or apostasy.

That this degenerate couple, who have so far flaunted justice by being granted house arrest in lieu of incarceration while waiting for trial (yet another reason I hate New York) thinks that by invoking the specter of Witchcraft they’ll garner sympathy for themselves is indicative of how dhimmified they believe Americans are, and in New York they may be right.

I wouldn’t be surprised if some N.Y. liberals claim it’s racist to judge these two by our standards, since in their culture abusing women and then accusing them of Witchcraft is acceptable. That’s what multiculturalism is after all. I’m glad Herman Slater isn’t alive to see this.

The evil cretin face only 40 years for their crimes, they’re getting off light if they get the maximum.

I say they should be hung.
