“Anti-Gang” Activist Pinched in MS-13 Bust

LOS ANGELES — Federal and local authorities in the Los Angeles area have arrested the head of a high-profile anti-gang organization as part of an action against the notorious Mara Salvatrucha street gang.

FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said Alex Sanchez, executive director of the nonprofit Homies Unidos, was arrested at his home in the Los Angeles suburb of Bellflower early Wednesday on federal racketeering charges.

Mara Salvatrucha also is known as MS-13.

Homies Unidos works to rescue kids from gangs in Los Angeles and Sanchez’s native El Salvador.

An indictment named 24 members of Mara Salvatrucha alleging crimes including murder and narcotics offenses.

There was no immediate response to a call seeking comment from the organization.

I Guess Stockpiling Food is a Good Idea After All: UG99 Fungus May Wipe Out 90% of World Wheat Crop

The spores arrived from Kenya on dried, infected leaves ensconced in multiple layers of envelopes.

Working inside a bio-secure greenhouse outfitted with motion detectors and surveillance cameras, government scientists at the Cereal Disease Laboratory in St. Paul suspended the fungal spores in a light mineral oil and sprayed them onto dozens of healthy wheat plants each day. After two weeks, the stalks were covered with deadly reddish blisters characteristic of the scourge known as Ug99.

Nearly all of the plants were goners.

Crop scientists fear the Ug99 fungus could wipe out more than 80 percent of worldwide wheat crops as it spreads from its home base in eastern Africa. It has jumped the Red Sea and traveled as far as Iran. Experts say it is poised to enter the breadbasket of northern India and Pakistan, and the wind inevitably will carry it to Russia, China and even North America — if it doesn’t hitch a ride with people first.

Uh. Like people mailing this spore to St. Paul?

“It’s a time bomb,” said Jim Peterson, a professor of wheat breeding and genetics at Oregon State University in Corvallis. “It moves in the air. It can move in clothing on an airplane. We know it’s going to be here. It’s a matter of how long it’s going to take.”

Although most Americans have never heard of it, Ug99 — a type of fungus called stem rust because it produces reddish-brown flakes on plant stalks — is the No. 1 threat to the world’s most widely grown crop.

Here’s the key quote for you to remember:

The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center in Mexico estimates that 19 percent of the world’s wheat — which provides food for 1 billion people in Asia and Africa — is in imminent danger. American breeders say $10 billion worth of wheat would be destroyed if the fungus suddenly made its way to U.S. fields.

Fear that the fungus will cause widespread damage has caused prices to spike on world wheat markets. Famine has been averted thus far, but breeders say it’s only a matter of time.

“A significant humanitarian crisis is inevitable,” said Rick Ward, the coordinator of the Durable Rust Resistance in Wheat project at Cornell University. “We are at a stage where the equivalent of Hurricane Katrina is offshore and we are shoring up the dikes as fast as we can.”

The solution is to develop new wheat varieties that are immune to Ug99. That’s much easier said than done.

In other words UG99 will begin wiping out crops long before there is a solution, driving up food commodity prices and hitting America, already on target for grocery inflation for a variety of reasons, with even higher prices. Countries that rely on food aid will be hit particularly hard as wealthy countries scramble to ensure they have enough food to feed their own populations. If UG99 is spreading as fast as scientist think, this years harvest will be significantly smaller than anyone is expecting.

Minuteman Splinter Group Founder Accused of Running Home Invasion Ring that Targeted Drug Dealers in Arizona

Shawna Forde was a fixture in border security politics for too long. Unstable enough to be summarily dismissed from the Minutemen Defense Corps she became a perfect example of what leftists accuse anyone concerned with border security of being. But Forde had a history of incidents which made it clear that she was at the very least involved with a seedy element, and part of the drug culture. Shawna was mysteriously assaulted by gang members and her husband allegedly shot in attacks she tried to link to her immigration activism, but word on the street was always that her troubles with “Mexican gangs” had a much more nefarious origin.

It has long been accepted as fact that Shawna took out a hit on her husband (who had filed for divorce prior to being shot) and blamed Mexican gangs. As one blogger who met (and didn’t like) Forde in person said, this story didn’t track because Latin American gangs “are not known for doing things in little slices.”

The police dragged their feet building a case against this psycho, giving her time to show the world her true colors:

PHOENIX — Two of three people arrested in a southern Arizona home invasion that left a little girl and her father dead had connections to a Washington state anti-illegal immigration group that conducts border watch activities in Arizona.

Jason Eugene Bush, 34, Shawna Forde, 41, and Albert Robert Gaxiola, 42, have been charged with two counts each of first-degree murder and other charges, said Sheriff Clarence Dupnik of Pima County, Ariz.

The trio are alleged to have dressed as law enforcement officers and forced their way into a home about 10 miles north of the Mexican border in rural Arivaca on May 30, wounding a woman and fatally shooting her husband and their 9-year-old daughter. Their motive was financial, Dupnik said.

“The husband who was murdered has a history of being involved in narcotics and there was an anticipation that there would be a considerable amount of cash at this location as well as the possibility of drugs,” Dupnik said.

Forde is the leader of Minutemen American Defense, a small border watch group, and Bush goes by the nickname “Gunny” and is its operations director, according to the group’s Web site. She is from Everett, Wash., has recently been living in Arizona and was once associated with the better known and larger Minuteman Civil Defense Corps.

A statement attributed to officers of Forde’s group and posted on its Web site on Saturday extended condolences to the victims’ families and said the group doesn’t condone such acts and will cooperate with law enforcement.

“This is not what Minutemen do,” said member Chuck Stonex, who responded to an e-mail from The Associated Press sent through the Web site. “Minutemen observe, document and report. This is nothing more than a cold-hearted criminal act, and that is all we want to say.”

The assailants planned to leave no one alive, Dupnik said at a press conference in Tucson on Friday. He said Forde was the ringleader.

“This was a planned home invasion where the plan was to kill all the people inside this trailer so there would be no witnesses,” Dupnik said. “To just kill a 9-year-old girl because she might be a potential witness to me is just one of the most despicable acts that I have heard of.”

Dupnik said Forde continued working through Friday to raise a large amount of money to make her anti-illegal immigrant operation more sophisticated.

Forde denied involvement as she was led from sheriff’s headquarters.

Huffpo and Crooks and Liars are claiming this was evidence of her “xenophobia” although her murderous accomplice Gaxiola and the Mexican gang bangers she hired for the hit on her husband have yet to come forward with any horror stories of being berated with racial slurs while plotting brutal killings with her.

The group she founded, Minutemen American Defense, or (I kid you not) M.A.D. as they like to be known has released a statement claiming they are shocked, SHOCKED, that an allegedly drug using loose cannon who was thrown out of the minutemen and was thought to be involved in a hit on her own husband might have been involved in another violent crime.  Since they have a section of their website dedicated to obvious yarns she spins and pictures of her hanging around a biker bar I’ll assume they shock easy.

Here’s a hint for my readers, if you know anyone over 30 who hangs around biker bars, you know someone that will probably kill you for money.

James Von Brunn Wasn’t a “Right Wing” Extremist

But since DU and other lefty sites are claiming this guy is basically a Republican, here’s a missive by Von Brunn reprinted by “6killer” on the Original Dissent forum about John McCain that should lay that lie to rest:

Although Forrestal had told associates he had decided to resign, when Truman abruptly asked forhis resignation he was shattered. His letter of resignation was tendered after Truman’s dismissal on March 28, 1949. On the day of his removal from office, he went into a sort of strange daze and was flown on a Navy airplane to the estate of Under Secretary of State Robert A. Lovett in Hobe Sound, Florida, where Forrestal’s wife, Josephine, was vacationing. He was checked into the Bethesda Naval Hospital five days later. The condition was officially announced as “nervous and physical exhaustion”; his lead doctor, Captain George Raines, diagnosing his condition as “depression” or “reactive depression.”

A chief reason for Forrestal’s fragile mental state was that his high-profile position was in sharp contrast to his personality[citation needed]. As a person who prized anonymity and once stated that his hobby was “obscurity”, he and his policies had been the constant target of attacks from columnists, including Drew Pearson and Walter Winchell. Pearson’s protege, Jack Anderson, later asserted that Pearson “hectored Forrestal with innuendos and false accusations.” [3]

Bethesda Naval Hospital

Forrestal seemed to be on the road to recovery, having regained 12 pounds since his entry into the hospital. However, in the early morning hours of May 22, his body was found on a third-floor roof below the 16th-floor kitchen across the hall from his room. The Montgomery County, Maryland, county coroner called it a suicide within hours of the death.

The official Navy review board, which completed hearings on May 31, waited until October 12, 1949, to release only a brief summary of its findings. The announcement stated only that Forrestal had died from his fall from the window. It did not say what might have caused the fall, nor did it make any mention of the bathrobe sash that was tied around his neck. There were reports of paranoia and of involuntary commitment to the hospital, as well as suspicions about the detailed circumstances of his death, which have fed a variety of conspiracy theories, some of which are described below. One of Forrestal’s statements described as “paranoid” was his prediction that the United States would soon be at war; a few months later the US was indeed at war in Korea.[3]

His alleged suicide note was part of a poem from Sophocles’ tragedy Ajax:

Fair Salamis, the billows’ roar,

Wander around thee yet,

And sailors gaze upon thy shore

Firm in the Ocean set.

Thy son is in a foreign clime

Where Ida feeds her countless flocks,

Far from thy dear, remembered rocks,

Worn by the waste of time–

Comfortless, nameless, hopeless save

In the dark prospect of the yawning grave….

Woe to the mother in her close of day,

Woe to her desolate heart and temples gray,

When she shall hear

Her loved one’s story whispered in her ear!

“Woe, woe!’ will be the cry–

The actual note [2] was not released by the Department of the Navy until April 2004.

Doubts have existed from the beginning about Forrestal’s alleged suicide. These were fueled by the fact that the Navy did not release the transcript of its official hearing.[citation needed] The early doubts are detailed in the book The Death of James Forrestal (1966) by Cornell Simpson, which received virtually no publicity. Additional doubt has been raised by the 2004 release of the Navy investigation, informally referred to as the Willcutts Report, after Admiral Morton D. Willcutts, the head of the National Naval Medical Center, who convened the review board.

Among the discrepancies between the report and the accounts given in the principal Forrestal biographies are that the transcription of the poem by Sophocles appears to many to have been written in a hand other than Forrestal’s, and there was broken glass found on Forrestal’s bed, a fact that had not been previously reported. Theories as to who might have murdered Forrestal range from Soviet agents — a view championed by Joseph McCarthy — to U.S. government operatives sent to silence him for what he knew about UFOs.

Forrestal himself maintained that he was being tracked and bugged by Zionist operatives. As Forrestal biographer Arnold Rogow puts it:

“…Forrestal, during his last months in office, harbored a conviction that he was under day-and-night surveillance by Zionist agents; and when he resigned as Secretary of Defense in March, 1949, he was convinced that his resignation was not unrelated to pressures brought to bear on the Administration by American Jewish organizations.”

Rogow footnotes this passage, noting:

“While those beliefs reflect the fact that Forrestal was a very ill man in March 1949, it is entirely possible that he was ‘shadowed’ by Zionist agents in 1947 and 1948. A close associate of his at the time recalls that at the height of the Palestine controversy, his (the associate’s) official limousine was followed to and from his office by a blue sedan containing two men. When the police were notified and the sedan apprehended, it was discovered that the two men were photographers employed by a Zionist organization. They explained to the police that they had hoped to obtain photographs of the limousine’s occupant entering or leaving an Arab embassy in order to demonstrate that the official involved was in close contact with Arab representatives.”

New light was shed on Forrestal’s concerns in March 2006 when The Times of London, referencing newly declassified documents, revealed that a serious attempt by Menachem Begin’s Irgun Gang to assassinate Britain’s anti-Zionist counterpart to Forrestal, Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin, had been thwarted by British intelligence in 1946. Forrestal had been the most conspicuous and forceful anti-Zionist in the Truman administration.

There was also a press campaign against Forrestal, led by columnist Drew Pearson. The campaign tried to make it appear that he was paranoid. Paranoia, however, was never mentioned in the official evaluations of his psychiatric state. One of Pearson’s most spectacular claims was that while Forrestal was at Hobe Sound, Florida, shortly before he was hospitalized, he was awakened by a siren in the middle of the night and ran out into the street exclaiming, “The Russians are attacking.” This claim has not been confirmed by anyone who was there that night, and was described as a fabrication by Captain George Raines, the Navy doctor in charge of Forrestal’s treatment[4]

McCain-Feingold: As anticipated, Senator John McCain (R-Az.) once again pushed his “campaign reform” bill to the Senate floor, this time as an amendment to an unrelated appropriations bill. This bill would severely restrict the right of NRLC, NRLC affiliates, and other citizen groups to communicate with the public about the positions of federal politicians, and about upcoming votes in Congress. Once again, pro-life Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Majority Leader Trent Lott (R- Ms.) objected to a direct vote on the bill, thereby forcing McCain to seek to “invoke cloture,” which requires 60 votes. The Sept. 10 vote was 52 to 48 for cloture; in other words, McCain fell eight votes short. No senator changed his vote from the last such roll call, which occurred on February 25. All 45 Democratic senators voted to advance the bill, as did seven Republicans: McCain, Chafee (RI), Collins (Me.), Jeffords (Vt.), Snowe (Me.), Specter (Pa.), and Thompson (Tn.). McCain then withdrew his amendment and said he would support no further attempts this year unless there is “some sign of progress.” McCain also suggested that his side might have better luck next year, adding, “Time is on our side.” In reality, however, the lobbying by NRLC, NRLC affiliates, and other pro-life groups over the past two years has stiffened opposition to the bill among Republican senators, and McCain has lost ground in the Senate since 1996, when he had mustered 54 votes for cloture.

So It Begins: Shots Fired at Holocaust Museum in D.C After Jeremiah Wright Claims “Them Jews” are Controlling Obama Update: 9/11 Truther the Perpetrator

I’ve been blogging about the rising levels of anti-Semitism on the left being used to build bridges with both the Islamist community and the White Supremacists who have in turn hitched their wagon to their fellow Jew hating degenerates. Grave desecration and random attacks on Jews have been on the upswing, as has been the “anti-Zionist” rhetoric of even mainstream lefties.

Today just scant hours after it was reported “Rev.” Jeremiah Wright made wildly anti-Semitic statements in an interview a gunman walked into the Holocaust Museum and started a shoot out. From Fox.com:

At least two people were shot after a man opened fire inside the national Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., Wednesday, officials said.

The suspect has been arrested, according to a law enforcement source.

Reports said the suspect first shot a security guard, and that another guard returned fire, wounding the alleged shooter.

There are conflicting reports about how many people were shot.

Right now two people are being reported shot, one the gunman, and one person injured by flying glass.

Fox is reporting that they believe the shooter was a local.

How do I link Wright’s statement to this atrocity? Read it yourself and tell me it’s not incitement:

Asked if he had spoken to the President, Wright said: “Them Jews aren’t going to let him talk to me. I told my baby daughter, that he’ll talk to me in five years when he’s a lame duck, or in eight years when he’s out of office. …

“They will not let him to talk to somebody who calls a spade what it is. … I said from the beginning: He’s a politician; I’m a pastor. He’s got to do what politicians do.”

Wright also said Obama should have sent a U.S. delegation to the World Conference on Racism held recently in Geneva, Switzerland, but that the president did not do so for fear of offending Jews and Israel.

“Ethnic cleansing is going on in Gaza. Ethnic cleansing of the Zionist is a sin and a crime against humanity, and they don’t want Barack talking like that because that’s anti-Israel,” Wright said.

So Jews are Nazis blah, blah. This kind of rhetoric started on the now defunct MoveOn.Org forums and migrated to every lefty group that’s active. I heard a couple of hipsters claim that same thing while on line at Starbucks,  and just wasted about 30 mins last night arguing with a person on Twitter who claims Jews stole Arabs’ land and should “give it back” to the rightful owners. Anti-Semitism and pro-Islamism is on the rise in America and this is the result, and more incidents like this will happen until we confront the purveyors of this hatred and drive them from the public discourse.

Update: Shooter identified as 9/11 Truther/White Nationalist James Von Brunn. Von Brunn once tried to place the Federal Reserve under arrest. Von Brunn has called America a “Jew Vassal State” in the comments on this post. He’s a eugenics advocate who claims “Marxism-Multiculturalism-Judaism” are destroying America.

His racialist philosophy and politics mirror Muslim convert James Stenzel’s Jew Watch.

Fox is reporting that Von Brunn was called “an ass” by Tom Clancy.
