WW III Watch: Russian “Anti-Terror” Troops Land in Syria

Not of course to be confused drunken barbarians Russia sent into Georgia a few years ago specifically to spread terror. These Russian troops are anti-terror specialists which is convenient since Assad is saying he’s fighting terrorists.

Which is of course true since the insurgency is a Muslim Brotherhood/Al-Qaeda supported government overthrow. But Syria is a Baathist (National Socialist) dictatorship so either way the victor will be an enemy of the West. We should be staying out of this one and building up our forces for the inevitable world war that will start once the MB announces the formation of a new caliphate, but we’re apparently pursuing a policy that would require sending 300,000 troops in. Smart power!

From The Blotter:

A Russian military unit has arrived in Syria, according to Russian news reports, a development that a United Nations Security Council source told ABC News was “a bomb” certain to have serious repercussions.

Russia, one of President Bashar al-Assad’s strongest allies despite international condemnation of the government’s violent crackdown on the country’s uprising, has repeatedly blocked the United Nations Security Council’s attempts to halt the violence, accusing the U.S. and its allies of trying to start another war.

Now the Russian Black Sea fleet’s Iman tanker has arrived in the Syrian port of Tartus on the Mediterranean Sea with an anti-terror squad from the Russian Marines aboard according to the Interfax news agency. The Assad government has insisted it is fighting a terrorist insurgency. The Russian news reports did not elaborate on the Russian troops’ mission in Syria or if they are expected to leave the port.

[…]

RIA Novosti, a news outlet with strong ties to the Kremlin, trumpeted the news in a banner headline that appeared only on its Arabic language website. The Russian embassy to the U.S. and to the U.N. had no comment, saying they have “no particular information on” the arrival of a Russian anti-terrorism squad to Syria.

Moscow has long enjoyed a cozy relationship with the Assad regime, to which it sells billions of dollars of weapons. In return Russia has maintained a Navy base at Tartus, which gives it access to the Mediterranean.

Last week Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Russia had no plans to send troops to Syria.

[…]

Russia’s Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov denied reports that Russian special forces were operating inside Syria. He did say, however, that there are Russian military and technical advisors in the country.

U.S. State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland said the U.S. government had not heard of the reports of Russian troops in Syria and declined to comment.

This is an escalation of the situation in the middle east. With Obama firmly in the corner of the Brotherhood/Al-Qaeda take over of the region it will be a matter of time before the “revolutionaries” ask America for support against the increasingly belligerent and imperialistic Russians. Then all hell will break loose.

Milwaukee Cops Stealing Citizens Guns?

On January 30th a Wisconsin man named Nazir al-Mujaahid was shopping at an Aldis when two assailants armed with a sawed off shotgun began threatening a cashier and other patrons. Mujaahid, who had gotten his concealed carry permit a few weeks prior, opened fire on the man saving the innocent people at the store from these maniacs. As is procedure Mujaahid’s gun and holster were confiscated until an investigation was complete. The law requires them to then return the weapon to Mujaahid

Mujaahid was cleared of any wrong doing, yet police have not and seemingly will not return Nazir al-Mujaahid’s weapon:

A gun rights advocacy group has taken Milwaukee police to task for refusing to give back a gun used in an Aldi grocery store shooting that was ruled justifiable and legal.

Police say the gun is still evidence in the case.

Nazir Al-Mujaahid shot and injured a suspected robber who was threatening a cashier and waving a sawed-off rifle at other patrons on Jan. 30. Al-Mujaahid had gotten a concealed-carry permit a couple of weeks earlier. The suspect fled, was later arrested and charged in the Aldi robbery and two other armed holdups.

Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm cleared Al-Mujaahid, 35, of any criminal wrongdoing, but police still have his gun and holster, according to Nik Clark, president of Wisconsin Carry Inc., a gun rights advocacy group.

“WCI believes that these acts by the Milwaukee Police Department represent violations to law-abiding citizens’ constitutionally guaranteed right to be free from illegal seizures of their private property and their constitutionally recognized right to keep and bear arms,” Clark said in a news release Tuesday.

The department “appears to have a practice of concocting baseless reasons to seize any and all guns they come across in the city – even when those guns have never been used in connection with a crime,” the release states.

Police spokeswoman Anne E. Schwartz said Tuesday that Al-Mujaahid’s weapon is still considered evidence in the pending case against the two men charged in the armed robbery.

Schwartz’s explanation seems strange. Why would the gun used by a citizen to stop and armed robbery be used as evidence against the pair?

Al-Mujaahid apparently once loaned a gun to a friend who then lent the gun to a relative who was a felon, but Mujaahid was cleared in that case of any wrong doing. It seems likely though that police are making up reasons to deny this man his rights before he has broken any laws.

This reminds me of the gun confiscations by New Orleans police during Katrina. Word on the street on that affair was that police didn’t want to return guns (and other confiscated property) because they sold them already. But NOPD is notoriously corrupt, I haven’t heard the same thing about cops in Milwaukee.

According to activists in the area the cops and the left leaning officials have been involved in active campaigns to harass and intimidate gun owners and Black gun owners are particularly vulnerable. It seems like this case is part of an overall pattern of targeting law abiding citizens who stand up for freedom and self-reliance – especially if they’re Black.

Michael Coren on the “Caledonia 8”

Six years ago a group of “Indigenous” Canadians, led by White communists and anarchists, assaulted and occupied land in Caledonia section of Ontario, Canada. Using the supposed breaking of a treaty as a pretext (and no real consensus has ever been reached on that point) “Native” protesters – and by “Native” we are also talking about a contingent of Ward Churchill style Indians – began a campaign of extortion, harassment and violence against White, Black and Asian Canadians. The violence was so bad many of the residents of Caledonia were not only hospitalized but permanently disabled by beatings administered by protesters. Residents of Caledonia had their homes and property stolen and re-distributed by the “protesters” and there have been several murders associated with the protesters.

In other words it’s a lot like what Occupy Wall Street wants to become. This report has a comprehensive list of the atrocities committed by these anarchists complete with pictures of the damage.

The worst part of the story though has always been the fact that Canadian police and the court system sided with the protesters, going so far as refusing to protect the populace from the rampage. This has resulted in several multi-million dollar lawsuits that the crumbling province can not afford.

The police have arrested eight people recently in the area – for protesting the violence. The charges were dropped and the group is planning another protest. Micheal Coren interviews one in this clip. I post this because the Caledonia occupation is a template radicals use to plan their attacks. Occupy Wall Street is already using this playbook so it is instructive to see the damage these tactics can cause over time:

NAACP, Al Sharpton and Detroit Leaders Play Race Card with Emergency Financial Manager Law

Earlier this month, Huffpo reported on the prospect of Detroit having an emergency financial manager. Judging by the article and some of the updates, you’d think the KKK was about to descend on Detroit. And it’s all because of Republican ‘dictatorial’ governor Rick Snyder.

For those of you who don’t know, Detroit has a corruption problem. Former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is a convicted felon after funneling state money to his wife and lying under oath in a civil trial about an affair. He also pled guilty to assaulting a police officer. He’s been ordered to pay 1 million in restitution to the city and was sentenced to further jail time when he was found to have lied about the state of his finances. Monica Conyers, former Detroit City Council member and wife of democrat Congressman John Conyers, is serving a sentence for receiving bribes from a contractor.

Those are just a couple of examples of a city besieged by corruption. Employees in the school system have also embezzled and misused funds for which former governor, Jennifer Granholm, called in EFM Robert Bobb. Bobb is black and Granholm is a democrat and oddly enough I don’t recall as much of a cry of racism when Bobb was called in, though his tactics to clean up the school system weren’t popular with school officials. Even the Detroit Public Library system thoughtlessly spent over 2 million on furniture all the while the threat of closing of some branches loomed.

With all of this going on, the city is in obvious financial straits. Mayor Dave Bing has been warning the city is near bankruptcy for months and says that without huge reform the city could run out of cash by April.

But for some, the concept that a city has to show it can be responsible with money and get rid of corrupt leaders or face the consequences isn’t reasonable. It must be racism. President of the Detroit NAACP, Rev. Wendell Anthony, compares Detroit having an EFM to going back to the plantation. And race baiter for pay, Al Sharpton, has made a predictable appearance claiming that the EFM law is racially biased and is used against cities with a predominantly black population. He and Congressman Conyers led a protest outside the home of Governor Snyder on Martin Luther King Day. Detroit’s religious leaders and other protestors showed up including members of the extreme leftist group By Any Means Necessary. The religious leaders apparently left to avoid being associated with such a radical element.

There is a lot of misinformation going around about Michigan’s Emergency Manager law. I find it ironic that the people balking the loudest about the state intervening in a financial emergency are the same type of people who think Obamacare and other big government concepts are okay. Public Act 4, the new version of this law, states:

“The legislature hereby determines that the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of this state would be materially and adversely affected by the insolvency of local governments and that the fiscal accountability of local governments is vitally necessary to the interests of the citizens of this state to assure the provision of necessary governmental services essential to public health, safety, and welfare. The legislature further determines that it is vitally necessary to protect the credit of this state and its political subdivisions and that it is necessary for the public good and it is a valid public purpose for this state to take action and to assist a local government in a condition of financial stress or financial emergency so as to remedy the stress or emergency by requiring prudent fiscal management and efficient provision of services, permitting the restructuring of contractual obligations, and prescribing the powers and duties of state and local government officials and emergency managers…”

The City of Detroit can barely take care of its own trash. It’s had enough of a loss in population that Mayor Bing has proposed moving residents closer together in order to save money on public services. Detroit’s downfall isn’t just bad for the city. It will have a far-reaching impact, especially to the suburbs. However, Detroiters do tend to forget that it’s not the only town around. Do people imagine that Governor Snyder doesn’t have enough on his plate with the rest of the state struggling as well? I have to wonder if they think he lies awake nights in his pointy white KKK hat dreaming of what he’s going to do when he finally gets his hands on Detroit.

I assume it’s the phrase “permitting the restructuring of contractual obligations” that upsets a lot of people in Detroit and cities that have already had an EFM.  Mayor Bing has already stated he needed the unions to be willing to compromise to help the city. Unions never want to hear they are part of the problem. At least one union official is spreading the rumor that the law takes away the right of citizens to vote which isn’t true. This short fact sheet explains the reality.

After demonstrating incredible levels of irresponsibility and corruption, it’s only reasonable that the state step in to help the city and possibly save the state from any further losses.  This already volatile situation doesn’t need race baiters coming in to preach hate. It needs someone from outside of Detroit to work with city officials in bringing the city back from the brink of the precipice of self-destruction it seems so hell-bent to run head on into which is the job of an EFM.
